Re: Whats your poison I think you would have to have a tractor trailer to haul that cannon. I would go with my ar and Ak, My 5r for long range. Shotgun for short. By the time I figured out which weapon I wanted to use I would most likely be shot.
Re: why does a scope WOW, Lets look over the thread. I ask a simple questions. I got a lot of bashing. I only posted four times I think in this thread. I thanked the ones that gave a good reply to include LL. So where is the drama? It isn't from me. But it was some good reading. I do think...
Re: why does a scope Well good morning everyone. Boy I never thought this post would get so many replys and so few answers. BTW you all are welcome to come out shooting with me anytime you want. I really enjoy that shooting and I have order the NF. That is why I was asking why it cost so much...
Re: why does a scope Because I don't post much you think I am a new shooter? I shoot twice a month out to 1000y's and have been doing this for a while. I shoot a moa at that distance with no trouble. Most month I go through 200 rounds at distance of 400 to 1000y. Then another 500 with the m4...
Re: why does a scope Really I was just asking what goes into a scope to make it cost so much? As I said I get pissed when I have to spend a lot of money. To the guys that made good post, thanks. To rest of you. Well you know.
Re: why does a scope The presence of great competition in the market tells me all I need to know; I feel no need to research the prices of components and other costs. I am comfortable in my ignorance because I know when those costs drop to where they are an insignificant portion of the...
Re: why does a scope I guess the thing is I work hard for the money I make and I like to know I get the most bang for my buck. If shooters are buying something and paying out the ass for it just because the cool guys are buying it the price will stay up. Yes supply and demand. Its just look...
Re: why does a scope LowLight that was a great answer and really where I was looking at this from. I was not wanting to piss on any one's I know it all game. I was saying that it would cost about $500 to make the scope. The other $1300 is to pay the bills and cost to market it. That is a hell...
Re: why does a scope I understand the free market. But I am looking at a NF scope. I see the outside of it. I see the inside as I look through it. It is a great scope and clear as a bell. I don't think you could get much better. I understand about mark up and making money off of what you...
Re: why does a scope Well my friend you made my point in your post. I can see the first one costing out the ass. But how many have they made and sold since then? It cost more than a car engine. It seems that the material couldn't cost more than $500. Even if we give them a $300 to put it...
Why does a scope cost so much. There is no way it cost $2000 to make a scope. I just don't see it. I wonder what the real cost is for making a NF or a Z. It looks like they make $1500 a scope. Anyone know the answer for this?
Re: please help I have a 5r as well with a 20moa base by nightforce and nightforce rings. I got a med base and it works great. I don't have the nightforce scope yet but as soon as I get blessed with the funds it will be sitting on top of the rifle. For now I have the WOTAC with is a 30mm base...
Re: Scope options??? I got a WOTAC 4x14 by 50. It works great and I do twrist the knobs on it a lot. I use it to shoot out to 1000y every month and during that time I shoot 400y, 600y and 800y. I also shoot the first Sat of the month at 100y, 200y and 300y. So the scope does get a work out...
Re: sub moa rifles. I think there is a snob factor in it to a point. That does not mean that it is a better shooting rifle. Sure I would love a $10,000 rifle. But for now I will shoot the rifle I have and can afford. Once my skill level gets where I am better than the rifle I have now then I...
Re: 22lr AR practice- CMMG conversion We have been shooting the CMMG for about a year now and it works great. In fact there are four of us that warm up with the 22lr. Then we change out the bolt and shoot the 223. Keep it cleaned and oil it will shoot great. Why buy another barrel and upper...
Re: Problem with my stock weld I didn't see where you said how tall you are or what your reach is. I am pretty tall and long armed guy. 6'4" and my 5r was a little short for me as well. I did the add on stock pad and it was prefect. Its a easy and cheap fix.
Re: Your farthest hits ever? I shot out to 1000y with a remington 308 5r. I was shooting store bought fed 180. They were sub sonic by the time they hit the target but I was still able to hit 6x with them. Learned my lesson to get better ammo before my next outing.
Re: I GOT A NEW LONGE RANGE RIFLE!!! WOOOOOO HOOOO Two guys were at the range yesterday with Remington 700 223 and they were hitting at 1000y shooting 80 grain bullets. Not only were they hitting the target at 1000 but shot 7x doing it.
