I have a number of scopes. In terms of color pop, I would say the Zeiss Diavari and the SWFA 5-20x50 HD gives the best "pop" or contrast. Both can be had (depending on model for the Zeiss) for below the $3k threshold.

How about the SWFA 5-20X50? That is also a fairly light scope that would be in your price range. Or maybe the Trijicon Accupoint 5-20x50? The Sightron 6-24x50 might be worth a look too; it weighs the same as the March.

I run a March 3-24x42 on a similar rifle. That to me is the right sized and most versatile scope for a longer barrel AR. And the magnification range means I can do some precision shooting to boot.
