I have a Gap-10 in .260. I use Nosler brass, 140 amax, CCI 200 and h4350. I had load data from the previous owner of 42 grains h4350 and a 140 smk bullet. I got ejector swipes at 42 gr, so I backed down to 41 grains and the 140 amax. That load works really well in my rifle with muzzle velocity...
Not sure about the deposit, but I have a Gap 10 in .260. It's like cheating to shoot it. You'll love it once you get it, as I'm sure you know. Good luck. I'm in the same boat building bolt guns at the moment, so I feel your pain.
Use a chrono if you can.... Factory Federal SMK 175's are going 2719 fps (average of 5 shots) out of my 24 inch gun. The MV was measured with a magneto speed and verified with data to be true at 890 yards.
I shoot a GAP-10 in .260. I am loading H4350 and 140 Amax bullets, mag length in a pmag. I just got back from the range and it shot half moa to 900 yards, which was the furtherest we had steel up to today. At 750, the splash makrks from 3 rounds looked like one splash. I love the .260.
