Rifle Scopes Fixed Power Low Magnification Scopes.

My long-range scope was a Leupold Mk 1 Ultra 16X It was part of an extra order for 50 cal. scopes used by the Navy. The lenses were glued in as the original intention was to use them on the semi-auto Barrett. The folks at Crane figured out that the Barrett kicked both ways so the scope lenses...

    Rifle Scopes Scope recommendations

When I had my Barrett 99, I used my Mk. 1 Ultra 16X. Mine is a government over run with the lenses glued in. It was made especially for the Barrett 82 semi auto. Those guns recoil in two directions so they will destroy a regular scope in a very short time. I never found the 16X to not be...

What trigger weight are you running??

When I build a Counter Sniper rifle for a PD, The trigger is set where you have yours. It's a liability thing! Why don't you set your trigger to 2-2.5 # and try it out. It will seem significantly lighter. F-Class triggers are set like you say, however you are set in a very sturdy position...

    Kowa eyepiece adapter

Speaking of adapter's. I have a 77mm TSN3. I have for it an adapter to fit the older Kowa eyepieces that they made for the Bushnell Spacemaster spotting scope (actually made by Kowa) I have a 15X and 22X WA lenses that work with the adapter. I also have the regular LER eye piece that came on...

    F T/R Competition Scope Choice

From my personal experience, I sold my BR and went with a 12-42 NXS with .125" turret. I also have a 2014 competition. The reason that I gave up the BR was that if I wanted to get to the front mounted adjustment, I could not reach it while in position. The scopes that I have now work a lot...

    F T/R Competition New F-Class Division

I actually started competitive shooting in the late 50's using a 1917 Enfield with a Vaver sight. In '62, I made the 6th Army ROTC Team to Perry with an M1, and on it went from there. As I'm now in my seventies, I have gotten into F-open. Also, I just converted my .223 Spacegun into a mid-range...

F T/R Competition Which nightforce reticle

NP R-2. Center up your group and the reticle is clear enough for your hold-off while shooting your string. They have to give you more points if you put all of your shots in the middle. JMHOFWIW

Rifle Scopes Illum for match/comp shooters? Does anyone actually use it?

I wonder if that is why NF left it off of the Competition scope?

F T/R Competition Heavy Barrel Bedding

I just thought of a point in favor of not using any bedding in front of the action. I have two Barnards. I like my stock so much that with the Aluminum bedding block in my stock, I can mix and match actions on the same stock. I actually have five different barrels that I can use in my...

    F T/R Competition Favorite F-TR loads

I used to shoot XC with my Space Gun. At 600 yards, I used the 90gr. JLK with N550 in my Holliger 6.5" twist barrel. It was a real hammer. Favor Center

F T/R Competition Heavy Barrel Bedding

I have the same rig as Frank's. Mine is a hammer also--Thanks Frank! Now to the original thinking about bedding. The plan is to bed the front of the action so that there is equal support behind and in front of the front action screw. As an example-The Remington 700 and the Winchester M-70...

    F T/R Competition M1 Garand T26 Tanker

Goat driver- Army-Field Artillery. First trip to Perry in '62; last time 2002. Had to become a reservist to go shoot. I got my training from W.E. Young and Mike Gingher. Built guns for a lot of folks. Mostly 14s for some of the USAF team and NG guys like Ron Fleishhacker. Craig

F T/R Competition shooting in the wind ??

Cornhusker-The only way to learn to shoot in the wind is to do it. Your idea of using a stake with a piece of ribbon on it will work just fine for practice. Set two out at each distance from your firing point. Set them at a distance just a wee ahead of your firing point to where you can see...

    F T/R Competition M1 Garand T26 Tanker

When Krieger came out with their Criterion line of M1 barrels, They sent me 5. I mounted them and tested them. They were all under 2" barrels. Two of them were absolute tack drivers. The barrels on the tankers are new manufacture barrels and shoot quite well. As for my "Bonifides"-- I have...

    F T/R Competition M1 Garand T26 Tanker

This is probably not the right place for this thread but, that being said-- There never was an issued T26 "Tanker" but several companies attempted to make their version of a "Tanker". Most notably was FedOrd in El Monte, California. Those were generally junk and had a hard time running. I...

Which Krieger Match Barrel for AR-15?

They both will shoot you into the High Master Class. Accuracy is equal. I prefer .920" with a 26" barrel on my spacegun. You may like the .812" if you are shooting a 28". Lots of folks seem to like that better. Favor Center

    Fgmm 190 smk powder?

Steve- Your guess of 67.3/4350 is about right. In the old days-that was a standard target load. When you go to the slow burning powders, you use more of it to get your best velocities. When we shot the magnums at Perry, IMR 4350 was the most common powder used. HTH Craig

F T/R Competition Cheek and Natural point of aim?

One thing that will give you good training is to get in position in the morning on your home range before the wind comes up and shoot some 10 shot groups. Try your different ideas and see what really does work for you. Shoot at 200 yards so that you can see each bullet hole as your group...
