Re: Signs of case head seperation --- Need advice. 45gr of V doesn't sound hot so you must be over sizing them? Is this for a bolt gun? If yes, set up the die by chamber checking them with firing pin removed. ~Mike
Re: Neck Trimmer I use a cordless drill/driver with my K&M neck turner for my BMG brass...works great. I've heard a cordless is better than a drill press as a press will/can turn it to fast. ~Mike

Re: 50cal BMG reloading press what should I buy? I choose the Hornday press over the RCBS because i heard the dies were better. However after 2 months and 200 reloads i've already started aquiring some nicer CH4D dies. The main issue is resizing with the expander ball it makes rezizing very...

Re: What's your system for rotating brass? I get a reasonable size batch together of about 500 pieces all same headstamp, i am currently using WIN brass. I then have 2 medium storage boxes for my rifle brass labeled Trimmed and Sized and a # FIRE box. I process all the brass in one go and...

Re: Pressure spikes with varget?????? Please help Difficult to say without a chrono. My standard 175 SMK load is 42.2 of Varget in my DPMS 16" but this is only 2,420 fps which i find to be the low speed node. The high speed node was 45.0 which was 2,500 fps which is approaching the max for...

Re: cutting a chamber to match brass dimensions This is correct...new brass WILL need to be fire formed to make it fit your chamber and there may be some accurancy issues as the brass does this. You can do this by firing it as a plinking/fouling round and 'waste' a bullet or you can look...
Re: Annealing-What Temp? Are you guys moving the flame from lower neck to center shoulder to shoulder lip? Also MAPP gas will produce the golden brown faster than propane which means its putting less heat into the brass. I only do my 50 brass and this takes 9-10 secs with the brass in a...
Re: cutting a chamber to match brass dimensions For headspace you'd just screw the die up or down....if on the other hand you are talking about headspace and neck and bell sizing then yes a custom die would be easier than a custom chamber. Neck sizing and annealing will prolly yield the same...

Re: Split necks and "sooty" brass? Scary!!! As above the soot is because of the cracks. Do you have a GO NO GO (headspace) gauge? I'd be on the phone to Winchester with the lot # ASAP. ~Mike
