Re: Need help with Savage build The only option I can see to make this work is to cut about 0.100" off the bottom lug. If I try to mill the lug recess deeper I'll cut through the aluminum bar into the plastic below. All I want to do is see if this thing will shoot. If it does I'll find a more...
Re: Need help with Savage build This is not an aftermarket recoil lug. I took the original barrel off, myself. This is my first foray into the world of Savage. I can't believe all the f<&$ing variations!
Re: Our New Service: Surface Machined Chassis Stoc I discovered this problem a couple of years ago. I didn't know the reason - thanks Chad for explaining. I had 2 AICS stocked rifles that both had unexplained fliers. On close inspection I found that the tang section was not making contact...
I'm putting together a rifle using a Model 10/Criterion barreled action. I bought a Savage plastic stock with an aluminum bedding system off the forum and the guy said it would work with my setup. It don't! The slot for the recoil lug is not wide enough nor deep enough. Are there different...
I.m getting ready to chamber my first barrel using a T3 receiver which I bought on the classifieds. As I didn't get a barrel with the receiver I need, major thread dia. , tpi, thread length, cone taper, etc. Or if someone has a drawing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dave
Re: Looking for barrel stub dimensions No, it's the new version. Actually it's a FN SPR receiver that I have ordered from CDNN. It has an extractor like the old M70.
Re: Looking for barrel stub dimensions Operator1...will the above model 70 drawing work for the newer controlled feed M70? In regard to which Savage - I guess I need the specs for the 10/110 receiver. Don't know a whole lot about the various Savage models. Dave
Is there a source for barrel stub data relating to chamber depth, thread length, diameter, pitch, etc. available? Would like to have them for Rem 700, Win m70, and Sav. Dave
Re: 69 gr. SMK HPBT need load! I run 25.0 Varget/69SMK in my AR with a 18" JP barrel and get 1/2" groups/100yds. I use this setup in multigun and have no problems out to 350 yds. My OAL is 2.240" which works in my mags OK. Dave
