Re: Favorite cartridge for competition? It's all personal preference. .260, 6.5x47, 6.5 creed, .243, 6xc.... Are all competitive with the right driver. Obviously there are other calibers that are competitive but that is my short list.
Re: Eurooptic.com Sniper’s Hide Membership Program Thank you Euro Optics!!! I got a fantastic phone call from Alex today and really look forward to using the Terrapin. The scopes I bought that put me in the raffle were of the S&B MSR Locking turret flavor and I have no reason to look for...
Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport Monthly matches would be great, and are great. The Texas club is shooting, the Oklahoma club is shooting monthly matches. A small match is a pain in the ass to put together. I can only imagine the undertaking that a huge match is to...
Re: 260 bolt action suppressed? Caliber is not an issue. Some cans shoot better than others. You will just have to check it when you get it to make sure you don't get weird flyers with the can on vs. off. Recoil is fantastic. Once you go "can" you won't go back.
Re: O.P.P.S March Match Great work Rich!!! And that is a damn fine looking jacket you have there. I hate to see money leave the state but you are still and Okie in my mind.
Re: Recommendations for Vacation-- Serious Post I have to 2nd and 3rd Hawaii. Maui is all you need. All the beach you can stand and 10,000ft Haleakala to Hike or bike. There are wonderful trails through the rainforest on the Hana side with all the beauty you can imagine. Go to the Lahaina...
Re: Kentucky Precision Rifle Challenge/ PRS Event If that is the rule then so be it. I will just have to put the .260 barrel back on. Hell, drop the speed down to 2600 for all I care and we can run .308's. It is all up to the match director -- as long as he makes the rules known ahead of...
Re: Correcting Cheek Weld Try some marine-tex. Build up to the height, length, and width of your choosing. If you build it up too much then you sand it down. I cut a groove in the top of mine to allow for straight entrance of the cleaning rod through the bore guide. I don't feel the...
Re: Whats Your Personal Goal ? To bicycle UP Haleakala, Maui. I will be renting a road bike and going from Paia to the top of the crater. It is only 36 miles but it is 10,000 feet of elevation gain in that 36 miles. This needs to be done the 3rd week of February. Training as we speak!!! I...
Re: The Predator Tactical Lone Star Challenge First day has come to a close. Kevin and crew have run a very smooth and fun match so far. Creative stages and wind imported from hell has worked me over. But the fun is well worth it. Now I need sleep and a clearer head for tomorrow finish. So...
Re: Barrel length for 243 in matches Never shot a .243 but I have been shooting matches for years with a 26" barrel and a 9+" suppressor. Length has not been an issue. Shorter would make it only slightly easier to maneuver. As for barrel length for .243 specifically... I will leave that...
Re: Tiger Valley team match November 12-13, 2011 Nathan and Jonathan rocked it!!! You guys have done some great things in a short time and it is a pleasure to see it. Congrats to the WIN.
Re: Wade Stuteville Precision Rifle Class in OKC Wade and Charles are both top notch. You guys available for some personal instruction? Say this weekend? Give me a call. If you sign up I am sure you will not be disappointed. John Sommers
Re: Texas State Bolt Rifle Championship Kevin & Mick did a fantastic job running this match. It was certainly one of, if not the, smoothest matches I have been fortunate enough to attend. As Wade stated above, we shot 2 relays for most of the match and we were shooting at the same time with...
Re: 2011 Hide Cup Hell, I wish my pistol barrel was bent... I may have had a better chance at hitting that damn mover!! Mick... did you get that spreadsheet?
Re: 2011 Hide Cup Rich, I have to dissagree just a little. Wind calls were less important this year(for me) because of how crazy the wind was. It was so bad for me that I would see a miss just left and make a good correction and then might get a hit -- use the same hold again and would...
Re: Tiger Valley 4 Man Tactical Match April 9-10 I hope you do this next year -- if not sooner. I know there is limited desire to shoot such a physical match but usually that just makes the match better. Less shooters = more shooting time available and more complex stages. I think you...
