A central locking actuator, a 12v relay, some 4 core cable, rocker switch and cover, a button, battery or 12v power supply. Maybe a fuse for the hell of it. Wire the switch in the power for the actuator, and the button to activate the relay. Simple. or go wireless...
Sanding marks aside, you have a high chance of the cerakote failing to adhere properly. I know this from experience with cerakote C-series high temp coatings.
For the Mauser smiths out there..... Does the barrel tighten on the end of the barrel on the internal shoulder of the action or does the barrel tenon shoulder tighten on the outside end face of the action?? I've had one smith say internal and another say external.

Measure the difference between the fire formed neck and the modified case neck, you might just have to neck size it and get a file or dremel and modify the inside of the neck so the projectile can slide
Calm down. I have no interest politics or discussing it, i just ask what the reason was for a weight limit. In New Zealand where i come from there is no such thing as a weight limit for a hunting rifle, so i was just curious what the reasoning behind it was.
You asked for ANY thoughts or suggestions, my thought is you don't need a .338 Lapua for hunting. What kind of animal are you hunting that you need a .338 especially if you can shoot them with a bow? You say you don't want to compromise the value by cutting on a finished rifle, 3lb is a lot to...
I realize that, what i meant was if you can get close enough to use a bow does it really need to be a .338? I'm sure they'd appreciate carrying something a lot lighter around, not to mention the money you'd saving on ammo.
