I agree, BAT is probably the most used action in the Benchrest world which says something about precision. I just wanted to try a Surgeon. I`m not saying Defiance is bad by no means but I`m going to send my money to BAT.

Depending on barrel length, I doubt you will ever get 2950 fps. I can see 2800-2850. Since the 350gr Sierra has a lower BC, why not go with the 338 Yogi with 300gr Berger?

The cartridge is more focused to the hunter that don`t shoot alot. Go ahead and call Brux and order a few more barrels, you will need them. I seen the 26 Nosler at Shot Show few months back. Too much gas in the tank!!

Actually the 375 Cheytac came out before the 408. Cheytac had Sierra to make around 500lbs of 350gr Matchkings for testing but since it lacked BC, the 375 was dropped. Then the 408 came out. Cheytac and Lost River combined to make the 408 bullet. The rest is history.
