Unless you are shooting at extreme cold temperatures, you should be ok with 1:8, however, one never knows what bullets are in the pipeline and may be introduced in the near future. For that reason, my 6.5 PRC is going to get a 1:7 or 1:7.5 barrel.

As the original post stated, the 6.5 PRC is a round that very much needs the extra action length to realize its potential.

I had the same problem with my AX when I first got it. I tracked the problem down to my brass. I was using brass that had been previously fired in another chamber. While it was within spec, the AI chamber is generally on the minimum side of the spec. Went to new brass and the problem vanished.

How are you forming your brass from the Starline? What kind of dies are you using?
