    Gunsmithing Removing factory muzzle brake

Re: Removing factory muzzle brake Pipe wrench prolly work but scar the hell outta brake. IMO would not apply heat to it, that could be damaging to bore and barrel. If you can secure barrel in vise and run a punch thru the port holes of brake to hit with hammer in the direction to loosen it...

    Gunsmithing Badger Ordnance bolt knob

Re: Badger Ordnance bolt knob Sorry guys, no pics, it's already back at Remington. As far as the deformation, when compared it to my other 700's it looked egg-shaped. The casing had a chunk of the rim missing. IMHO believe the first service shop thin walled my bolt face when re-fitted...

Re: Remington Warranty Replacement Well that's kinda what I was thinking, it's just raising a safety concern with me after looking at bolt face. Compared it to one of my other 700 bolts and it just doesn't look right around the extractor slot. I have seen extractors bend, notorious on...

Re: Installing Muzzle Brakes Remington 700 AAC Thanks for info and link, found a brake I might go with from PWS Precision at nokick.com that comes with shim kit rather than the JP... Heck may just buy both and see which one I like best then sell the other.

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 Issues

Re: Remington 700 Issues Sounds like your extractor needs to be replaced. If you take out the original extractor do not re-use it, and be careful not to bend the new one on installation.

    Gunsmithing 700 AAC

Re: 700 AAC I would shoot out the factory barrel then get it trued up and match grade barrel installed. Not sure if trueing can be done without installing new barrel either way trueing wouldn't help that much with use of factory barrel, IMHO. GA Precision offers these services and I hear they...
