California- Judge requires Lowes to go Full Retard

If their economy is so great, why is the state broke and why are we bailing them out all the time??????

Hand loading for Long range 1: brass case prep

In most bolt rifles, .002"-.003" is all you want for shoulder bump to get reliable bolt cycling etc without working the brass too much.

Hand Loading for Long Range 2: Bullet Sort/Prep

Because boat-tail bullets may have differing tail measurements, same as ogive differences. The point here is to measure the bearing surface of the bullets for consistency in "drag in the barrel" and possibly in the force needed to overcome neck tension to start the bullet travel.

    .338 Lapua set up

Good job on getting the wife involved. I did so, and now I have reason to buy guns for anniversaries, or birthdays. They make good gifts, as I get to play with them too.

Yep, that's it. I have not ranged it, so I would have to go on what I was told, 1760 yards.

Looking for advice on a long range hunting rig from the reloading perspective

There are a lot of folks who keep saying that a 30.06 only gets marginal performance edges on a .308. I would venture to guess that most of those folks do not have a 30.06 because they have convinced themselves that the .308 is really the way to go. However, it has been said, and I'll say it...

On Remington 700 Long Range, 30-06

Thanks for all this info. I have just gotten a 30.06 Ackley Improved built, and am getting outstanding results with RL-22, pushing 230 Bergers, with Fed 215 primers. I have been using OBT calculations, and getting 2680 fps average on a 32" barrel. No pressure signs at all, calculations are...

    Loads for 30-06

I wouldn't use RL-22 on that short a barrel. You would do much better with a faster powder.

    Reloading press advise

OP, from my experience and research, I would say, why not consider starting with the RCBS Summit press, than upgrade to a Hornady Lock-N-Load Turret Press when you get into mass production for .223 or pistols. Buy a bunch of Hornady Lock-N-Load adaptors for quick change of the dies---should fit...

    Large brag bag???

Interesting, LC. thanks for the link. The only drawback I see to this is the choice of snaps for secondary closure. I have a BlackHawk with said snaps, and I couldn't get along with it as well as the plastic break-away style clips on the AIM bag. This one is cheaper, however, and doesn't...

    Question on Dies...New to reloading

Because you are in many cases oversizing the brass, which causes it to wear out much faster. I do not S/B size any, and so far haven't had any issues----there is always a first time, I know....

    Question on Dies...New to reloading

Having several regular RCBS sets in a variety of sizes, one competition Redding set in 30.06 Ackley Improved, one RCBS Gold Medal set in 338LM, and one Wilson Seating Die for an Arbor press, I don't find a huge amount of difference from die to die. The Redding, Wilson, and RCBS Gold Medal sets...

    Large brag bag???

Yes, sir. AIM Field Sports out of the UK has a very nice 60" bag. I have two of them, as I have a 338LM with a 34" barrel, and a 30.06 Ackley Improved with a 32" barrel. They are very quality made, and are quite roomy---I have a large NightForce on one of the rifles, and bipods---they fit...

    Semi-scientific High End Spotter Test

I'll take one of each----Oh, WAIT!!!! I don't have enough money for ANY of them! Oh, well, a man can dream, can't he??? Seriously, I am grateful for the review here, and one day, I do hope to purchase something good in that department. Until then, I guess I'll buy another Night-Force Rifle...

    How about a gardening thread?

TRD1911 I agree with Sean, that poor cat disposal does need a partner (in-crime). That is one fantastic set up. I have very high hopes for your success this year from that garden. It takes vegetable gardening to a new level, that of being a landscape feature, and a beautiful one at that.

That is pretty Damn Cool!!!! I wish I had the room to set up a lathe....maybe sometime I will. Until then, I shall have to sit and dream, while I look at photos such as these. Congratulations, and I hope it turns out very well for you.

    How about a gardening thread?

Never did the squash with the corn and beans, but we used to do the beans with corn every year---years ago. They call it companion cropping, and it works well. The beans actually feed the corn, as beans are a legume and help provide nitrogen for the soil, and corn is a heavy feeder. No reason...
