Re: Just for "Laughs" Glad all turned out OK. Under only slightly different circumstances, that could've been VERY VERY BAD. I am often asked to take guys shooting (I am blessed with an outdoor range on my property). It is concerning how many people have guns with absolutely no knowledge...
Re: Tell me I'm not an idiot Sorry dude. You can officially be stamped as "idiot". But no fret, nothing that is going to change the world one way or another. Next time, buy it. I promise you won't get stuck with it if you change your mind.
Re: Figured I'd share my AR build as well. Its always more fun to shoot something that you "built" vs "bought". At least with me, it means more to understand each piece
Re: Local Wal Mart selling AR's as they get em. My local Walmart is carrying ammo and firearm. Limiting the purchase to 1 gun and 3 boxes of ammo per customer. Still pretty impossible to find stock. You just have to be lucky (right place right time). I swing by a few times a week, but no...
Re: Geissele vs. Timney triggers Local Gunsmith is very knowledgable and opinionated. He highly recommended the Giessele, I went with him and have no regrets. But I suspect either would be a vast improvement over any stock trigger
Re: which micro red dot? Aimpoint probably top of the pile, but also pricey. I have one and love it, but I also have 2 Doctor Spectre's that are equally impressive if "micro" isn't top of your priority. Doctor's are equally clear, but 2x weight at 1/2 price. Depends on what you value the...
Re: Gun safe desiccant Like said above, Damprid comes in a small bucket. No need to hang. Much more convenient than the hanging type. Also pick up a cheapo ($10-$15) digital thermometer with humidity readings to double check conditions.
Re: Rifle Case ideas options ? voodoo tactical makes great cases at very reasonable prices. I have 5 currently. They come in various sizes, colors. Good quality
Re: Fair price for mags? Agreed with above statements, unless you have hundreds, then you are risking future availability for a couple hundred dollars. Not worth it. Hang on to them, might be a nice chunk of change in 10 years
Re: Les Baer worth the $ Its worth what someone is willing to pay. I know that's a cliche, but right now you can't be overly concerned with prices. Anything within $500 of fair value should be reasonable, considering its something you desire to own. IF you wait, you might not get another...
Re: most youd pay for non windowed pmags right now? I have accumulated almost 100 30 rd mags in the past 4 weeks. I have paid 1.5 - 2 times what the going rate was 6 months ago. But I have plenty of mags now. If you are waiting for prices to calm down, you might be out of luck with...
Re: To sell or not to sell If you sell now, you will be shortchanging yourself. A restriction will be set. Prices will go up. The question is, will the ban be permanent this time. My bet is yes.
Re: How much should I ask? As said, you could get $3500 now, or wait 6 months and get $5k. The ban will be in effect by Mid year. The question is will it be permanent this time? I'm afraid it will. So you best ask yourself are you sure you want to get rid of this thing now? My...
Re: NightForce Scope Quality will be superior regardless of mfg location when Nightforce is involved. NF stands behind their product. First class quality
Re: Nightforce Reticle choice??? Both of my NF's have the FC-2 reticle. THey are a bit harder to find, but my preference by far. It is the simplest, cleanest reticle they offer IMHO. You are cheating yourself if you don't give every option a look at this price point
