    Tikka T3 CTR?

Pretty interesting rifle. I have a Tikka Sporter in .308 with the 24" barrel. I love everything but the weight. Which is why this one is so interesting. I'd like to pick up a Tikka in 260, however I'm worried about the barrel length as well. I've never owned a rifle in 260. Would the shorter...

    Tikka Rifles

I'm becoming quite a Tikka fan. I purchased a Tikka T3 Sporter in 308 with a 24" barrel and could not be happier. The ergonomics on the stock are great. Very much like a TRG (which it's patterned after of course). I purchased it in November and since then all 168 grain HPBT factory ammo (along...

308 Twist Rate and Accuracy International Barrel mfg.

As a point of interest, the Sako TRG 22 has an 11" twist. I purchased a Tikka Sporter 308 with a 24"bbl and an 11" twist as well (barrel made by Sako). Out of the box, it's shooting .5 MOA consistently with SSA 168gr HPBT ammo. Maybe the 11" twist is a good compromise.

The Right Tool for the Job

Again, my main interest, as a hobby is long range marksmanship and to a lesser extent hunting. So the Tikka Sporter is a good solution. I can use it for both. However, the weight was a bit much to endure during the entire 5 days. So I'd like to eventually get a lighter rifle for that use...

The Right Tool for the Job

Thanks sled, Thanks Sterling. Sterling: Do you mention an M1 Garrand clinic because it's also a bit heavier rifle and the specific skills will be similar in positional work? Thanks for your help. I'm all ears and eager to start working. Can you recommend a good text to get me started with...

The Right Tool for the Job

I'm new to marksmanship. Very new. My main interest is eventually getting good at long range target shooting as a hobby. So after a lot of research I've picked up: Tikka T3 Sporter 24"bbl, 308 Bushnell DMR 3.5-21x scope Forgive the aside for a sec, but I have to share my first experiences... I...

    Rifle cleaning supply list

Okay, I have my rifle and scope ordered. Tikka Sporter 24" bbl .308 with Bushnell 3.5-21 G2 ERS I've done a bit of research on what to get for cleaning supplies and the information is a bit all over the place and I can't really find any consensus. Could you guys help me out with a list of the...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell 3.5-21 G2DMR vs. Leupold Mk 6 3-18

I certainly seem to hear mostly great things about the Bushnell. Since the rifle is already heavy, I'm guessing this is going to become primarily a range rifle and I'll pick up a lighter rifle for hunting in the future. So an extra lb really is not that big of a deal. Considering the money...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell 3.5-21 G2DMR vs. Leupold Mk 6 3-18

Okay guys... Admitted FNG here. I have my rifle. I bought a Tikka T3 Sporter .308 24". Now I need a scope to complete my "snipery" setup (jk) and I'm about 1-2 weeks out. I am considering the Bushnell 3.5-21 G2DMR and the Leupold Mk 6 3-18. I have read every piece of info I could get on both...

Cannot get a Tikka Varmint rifle

You sell the Tikka Sporter stock and get a whiskey 3, manners, b&s, McMillan, or grs. The stock brings about $500. I found my Tikka Sporter local, for $1300. I think because most prefer a more traditional stock. Try the stock out. It's actually nice. Mimics the Trg.

Looking at FNH SPR A1 and Tikka Sporters.....any thoughts?

I just purchased a Tikka Sporter 24" bbl in 308. It's very nice. My research pointed me toward Remington 5r, FN, and an upper range Tikka. All my research pointed toward the Tikka > remington before mods. I can't speak for FN. looks nice. The Tikka had everything I wanted. Great stock (for me)...

    Sako TRGR Kit

I just purchased a Tikka Sporter that tried to mimic the Trg stock in most ways. There is an open hole on the bottom of the stock near the butt. Can the monopod be attached there? Not sure what that's there for.

Cannot get a Tikka Varmint rifle

Also, you can get a heavy barreled Tikka in 308, 260 or 6.5x55 swede in a T3 Sporter. If you don't like the stock (I'm loving mine), you can always get a different stock. I would guess there are also a few other upgraded components as compared to the Varmint model as well. Something to consider...

    Factory 6.5 creedmoor

I was looking for a super varmint as well in the T3, but it looks like it's not being imported anymore. The Sporter has the same or better barrel. And if you don't like it, you can always sell that stock and get a GRS or Manners or similar.

Pitfalls of Buying Tikka vs. Remington

My choices were between the Tikka Sporter and a Remington 5r milspec in .308. That's a great rifle too of course.

Need Help with Caliber Choice, .260?

Thanks! I decided to get a Tikka Sporter .308 with a 24" barrel. I mentioned on another post, but I may decide to go .260 after learning on the .308. But I need to learn to reload first!
