Rifle Scopes +1 For Falcon Warranty & RW Synder Service

Back in Nov of 08 I purchased a Falcon Menace from RW Synder Gunsmithing. I've used the scope regularly since I receive it and have been happy with it's performance. Earlier this month during a shooting session I noticed some 'black dust' in the sight picture. It turned out to be inside the scope. I contacted RW Synder and he said to send it back to him. Long story short - I put it in the mail on Oct 11th and on Oct 21st I received a new Menace.

Do you have to be the original owner for the warranty to be good? I bought mine used and has all the original packing and box but it came with no paper work so I didn't know about the warranty. It is a great scope and I have no problems just curious
