I've been trying to find the right load for my rifle and searching high and low to no avail so I just figured i'd give it a go. I did a ocw test from start to max and was very happy with the results.
specs are.
16" bushmaster ORC in .308 win 1:10twist
win brass trimmed and preped 2.005"
168gr hornady a-max
Coal 2.80"
Aliant PP 2000-mr powder
cci br2 primer
testing at 100yds chrono at 15'
80'F calm day

started at 46.7gr and did 7 3 shot groups .3gr increments.

found my node between 47.9gr and 48.2gr had two touching at 47.9gr then pulled one high left(called)
47.9gr averaged 2574 with a ES of 10
48.2gr averaged 2617 with a ES of 16

ran out of daylight after the 48.2gr group so the chrono stopped working. continued to shoot the remaining two loads (48.5 and 48.8) the groups opened up but still no signs of overpressure.(very curious as to how fast they were going)
loaded up a bunch at 48gr and going to see how they do next time out. this is 1gr below book max and .050" longer than published load. between that and the roomier brass i feel its a very safe load. now to see how well the powder holds up in the summer heat.
