Hello Guys, check out the "Precision Rifle Blog" best scope for 2014 shoot out at precisionrifleblog.com!!! Should be very interesting and informative. Take part in his online survey and see if your scope can muster up! Should be the best scope test online if your in the market for a precision long range tactical scope with FFP! Thanks, BullyDog

WHO LIKES BETTING???? Put down your picks here. List them by number starting with the BEST FIRST. Lets see who can come the closes!!! 1. Schmidt & Bender PM II 3-27x56mm 2. Hensoldt ZF 3.5-26x56 3. S&B PMII 5-25x56 4. March 3-24x42 5. Steiner Military 5-25x56 6. Kahles K 6-24x56 7. Night Force Beast 5-25x56 8. Valdada IOR 4-28x50 9. NF NXS 5.5-22x50 10. Valdada IOR 3.5-18x50 11. NF ATACR 5-25x56 12. US Optics ER25 5-25x58 13. Vortex Razor 5-20x50 14. Bushnell Elite Tactical 4.5-30x50 15. Leupold Mark 8 3.5-25x56 16. Bushnell Elite Tactical 3.5-21x50 17. Leupold Mark 6 3-18x44 and I'm so confused now that I have no idea where to put the Zeiss Victory 6-24x56, she can be the wild card. Notice of Disclaimer: This is just for fun, wished I had a program to run who comes in the closes in the end. I would hate to be the one trying to do this in real life! Tough choice! Good Luck Man

If the Tangent Theta 5-25x56 was out it would be in the top three. I know the tube is thicker than the past (Premier Model). I would really love to see the Vortex Razor 4.5-27x56. Can't beat their warranty and customer service.

Not only is the Tangent Theta thicker in the tube to prevent any reticle binding from the rings being over tight ,but the glass has been improves a tad. In other words it would take a computer to tell the differents from the S&B, Hensoldt, and March to be exact. The regular eye would see more differents on low power and high. It may come down to the strongest built and best turrets. BullyDog

Also the Tangent Theta's turrets are truly tool less now. No lever flipping or any wrenches.

Hey Cherry, what's up man?
I felt a little bad seeing as you were just talking to yourself again. So I figured I would chime in.
Anyway, being as I have no experience with about 75% of these scopes, I will just copy your list, with the exception of flipping places of the NXS & ACTAR.
Unless ROB01 chimes in, in which case I'll just copy his list.
Currently I am just patiently waiting for the new Steiner scopes to become available this September.
Which of these scopes do you have experience with? Just curious as to how you chose your ratings. I only wish I had access to most of these scopes.

Oh, BTW. Did you ever do those push-ups? Just kidding :)
Cheers... Joe

I have a March F 3-24X 42mm and 2 S&Bs (3-20X MTC, LT and 5-25X in DT-both with MSR reticle). Love them all! Sold my March FX 5-40X 56mm due to the 0.05 mil clicks. Wanted all my scopes to have 0.1 mil clicks. All have exceptional glass. Sold my Vortex Razor HD 5-20X, when I ordered the new 4.5-27X and the new Steiner T5Xi 5-25X. Still feel that Vortex products provide the best BANG for you buck with Steiner nipping at their heels. Can't wait for the results of this test and Ilya should be out with his comparisons soon.

Also the Tangent Theta's turrets are truly tool less now. No lever flipping or any wrenches.
.....tanget theta' s price range will be in the top 2 for sure. Way to much for an unproven optic. When you have companies like Steiner that are coming out with better optics for less money than previous models. It's hard to consider a tangent theta when they're vying for the top spot in cost.

What's up g2gjoe!!!!!????? I have to admit I haven't knocked out the pushups yet, so I'll knock you out 20 right now. Oh, I have experience with the S&B, Vortex, and Night Force, but at the moment I currently shoot a Premier. With that said, Premier sold their rights to Tangent Theta and the Tangent Theta model is supposed to be an improved Premier. From what I've seen with glass quality and how it was engineered ( regarding the Premier) the improved glass and thicker tube of the Theta should put it way up top, to the point were if you bump it down it would be from a biased view or just liking one name over another. Regarding this new Steiner about to hit the market, I myself would hope and pray it will be of quality. What I'm afraid of although, is for the price it's said to be going for on here, that something will be left out. Lets admit, Bushnell Elite's are well thought out but you pay only $1,500 for a reason. That reason being quality of glass "number one" and we could take them apart to compare the housing number two. What I'm trying to say is the money you pay for a $3,200 and up scope is well worth it and that "noticeable" ( if you have a good eye," you painters and artist know what I'm speaking of".) Anyway, I pray that Steiner has done figured out how to get $4,000 performance out of a $2,000 and less dollar scope. It will take the market by storm 100%. PUT ME ON THE BUY LIST!!!! Regarding the other scopes here I just know people that own a few and have asked their opinions. This was just for fun, lets see how close I get to this guys findings. He has came through in the past.

I agree, I spoke to the guy at Tangent Theta (forgot his name) and that's exactly what I told him. I told him that guys I've spoken to are afraid of the scope at its price with it being unproven. He assured me that we will be impressed and he will start offering pro discounts in the near future ( for the guys that shoot sponsored.) I myself want to check out the new Vortex 4.5x27.

People for real. Lets post relevant posts on here. This discussion could help non Snipers Hide members out that are just searching around. When he posts his final results with the test, we can post here with opinions of his findings. This thread was mainly created for post test results postings. Thank you all who have posted non childish things, even though I did have to stoop to their level. DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO. Thanks, BullyDog

Apparently Houked Un Fonix didn't work for him very well. I love reading his posts as it takes me 3-4 re-reads to actually figure out what he's trying to say because his grammar, spelling and punctuation is so bad. Pretty special...

This one needs to be in the running as well. It even has "sniper" in it's name. I think it's a supreme candidate for the "2014 Baest Scuop Shuut Oot".

I would recommend a judge for this shoot out. Might I recommend the OP himself, Bullydog. Ah!! Here he comes now:

Funny shit.
That's exactly how I pictured marduk185 trying to figure out how to configure his Batman belt.

Isn't trolling and hijacking threads against the rules? I was enjoying this thread till the hijackers showed up.

You should ask Bullydog about hijacking threads. He did that to vonbalkenbush when VB was trying to sell something. Bullydog's comments were removed by a moderator.

And besides, when did this thread show promise in the first place? To really start a thread, one must research first. There are a lot of threads on here regarding comparisons, some of them stickies. He should have read this thread http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-rifle-scopes/215325-finnaccuracy-optics-test.html and then complete his own research, instead of asking everyone else to go to another site. In fact, the people conducting this testing at the other site came here first to ask for help and suggestions.

Of course we are interested in the results, but when a thread is screaming "look at me.. look at me.. I am a beautiful butterfly.." effin' nuts is what it is. Hijacking this thread was mercy in spirit and hilarious is practice.

Popcorn?

How about we PUT YOU IN A STRAITJACKET !!!!!!
I keep hearing the theme music to the twilight zone everytime I read your posts.

It's actually "because his grammar, spelling, and punctuation are so bad".

bullydog, you're like an 8yr old who got into his dad's monster drinks. Slow down and chill dude. Anyone who has over 200 posts in less then a month of existing here is on his way to challenge Graham's post count and that will mean sure death.

To speak on Graham's defense and to clarify, his post count is not actual. He is one of the older members and when they reset everyone's post count, he was granted 25,000 posts manually. I do not believe Graham has actually posted over 25,000 posts. But I have seen him a ton of times in a lot of threads, he is very knowledgable.

Bullydork on the other hand…. scary. Does not know shit and rubs everyone the wrong way. I believe he is on his way to a permanent vacation. I see little contribution from him, thus I used the wonderful IGNORE function. That function was built specifically for posters like him.

Spoke to Tangent Theta today, and I think people are going to be very surprised when they receive their early orders. Checked out the PrecisionRifleBlog.Com web site today and they put up a new posting, "like this above." It's a place to vote on your scope choice for the year.

Talked with the Pres. of ATI (Tangent Theta's distributor) earlier this week. The first batch of TT's to land anywhere, will be at our door in about a months time.

We've made a sizable commitment, and I'm not in the least bit worried. :) Once we have the review done, we'll post it up in the optics section. People are free to speculate, and we hope to have ample inventory of them after the speculation has ended and everyone is stampeding trying to get one. They really are that good.

I bet the Schmidt & Bender PM II 3-27x56mm will come in #1.... Hensoldt ZF 3.5-26x56mm comes in #2... S&B PMII 5-25x56mm #3...... and I'll leave the rest up for grabs. Wished I just could afford one of these right now!!!

Thanks for posting. I've been waiting on something official. I as well bet people will flock to them. If Tangent Theta would surprise everyone and put a $3,700 tag on them, I bet they would move a lot more. But, like they say, you have to pay for quality. I spoke to Winchester, Virginia service office today, and the guy sounds positive.

I would like to see the TT's with some other reticle options. I owned a Premier and sold it because the Gen II XR in 5-25 was way too thin. If they were to pick up the MSR I might be convinced to start saving my pennies even with the price point being where it is. Loved my Premier, but couldn't use the reticle effectively.

Then hang on to your pennies for a bit. New reticles are coming is what I was told straight from them. I too want something other than the Gen 2 XR and mildot. I had replied that they should look at the MSR and they said it's in the running.

Oh snap!!! I love my Kahles K624i with the MSR (which is what replaced my Premier 5-25), but if these scopes are as good as everyone is saying AND they add the MSR I will more than likely end up with one in my safe.

Color me crazy, but I'm actually a really big fan of the Gen2 MilDot for most practical purposes, other than trying to shoot itty bitty groups on little orange spots on paper.

The .5 mil stadia between mildots is a huge improvement over a straight mildot, and the reticle is very usable even down at 5-6 power.

I like how Gen2XRs look, but I never actually use the Christmas tree.

I actually agree with you, 0.5 mil deviations are plenty for wind holds, however I can't stand dots in any form. Hence my fondness for the the MSR which is basically a P4 with some minor improvements. I'm a hashmark guy, not dots. If TT brings the MSR on board I will probably get one.

That's funny coming from the guy who bashes NF (which he has personally never owned) in most every post he can find about them. Pot meets kettle.

The results were pretty good, no serious surprises other than the NF did score higher than people give them credit for ... this quote says it all
OTE]
I was also surprised by how many Nightforce scopes were represented in the top few spots. 50% of the top 6 scopes were Nightforce. Personally, when I think of Nightforce, I don’t think best of class optical clarity … I think durability or maybe even repeatability, but not image quality
It appears the S&B 5-25x is still the gold standard by which all scopes are judged

Ouch, the Bushnell XRS is dragging up the rear in every category nearly while the DMR is fairing a little better.
