Not sure why the 300 NM draws so much attention. I've bee shooting a 300-RUM for several years and this caliber has been around for sometime and seems to be overlooked by many. My rifle has a 32" Kreiger barrel 1-9" with a Piecrecision brake. Using 96.7 grs of RL-33 behind a 230 gr Berger OTM I get a velocity of 3000 fps and sub 0.25" groups out to a 1000 yrds. Nosler Custom brass( cap 113grs H2O), Federal GM Mag primers, COAL 3.885, 0.025 jump, deadly combo.

I wouldn't expect more performance from a Norma than a rum as they have enough less case capacity. I'm looking forward to Peterson and Lapua brass. I and it seems a bunch of other people are experiencing issues with sticky extraction from the Norma brass web expanding after 2 or 3 firings. Custom dies might fix it but neither my forster or whidden dies resize this part of the brass.

Other than that, Norma has some sex appeal.
