6mm 55gr NBT out of short barrel

What chambering would you go with if the purpose was to push a 6mm 55 grain nosler ballistic tip bullet out of a 16" - 9 twist barrel with suppressor.

Looking for speed and flat shooting 600 yards and under.

Been there. For 55s and flat, things drop off rapidly after 400. I have a creed short throated reamer. It does 3500fps in a 16.5" barrel. A 6x45 in same barrel does 3250fps same bullet. I'd try a 6mm204.

...sounds like a 6ARC would meet your criteria for the "easy & least expensive" route... Gasser or Bolt..

either i probably would just run with a 6BR or variant

Midway seems to have kept Lapua 6BR brass in stock most of the time through the shortage. FWIW.
