I'm just curious if this rifle is finicky about the dust or conditions there. I'm inclined to believe that all .308 carbines are so over-gassed that lubrication isn't as much of an issue, but if anyone has first-hand knowledge I'd like to hear how they compare to the 5.56 lube issues. And no matter what uniform you wear, if you've served over in S.W. Asia, thanks again.

From the few articles I've read, the Brits like them, and the rifles have served well.

As to over-gassed 308's... I tend to agree, but I don't believe it's gassed to the point of being a bad thing. I haven't cleaned my MWS since I got it a few months ago; around 300rds or so, and I've yet to have the slightest issue. I love it.

That's kind of my point of asking. I've run an AR10 carbine for the last month (I'd have to count the pieces of brass for rd. ct.) and not cleaned it yet. The only thing I realized after posting was, even if we had someone from the UK on the site who had carried one, he probably can't own an AR15 in his own country. Or probably wouldn't have used an M4/16 in the war. So, that probably would kill hope of first-hand comparison.

I choked out a new AR15 build years ago w/ lack of lube, but can't remember when I put any CLP on the 10. It's just running and running. Maybe not over-gassed, but no lack of oomph when that action cycles. Wish I'd have bought more of whatever I got from The Sportsman's Guide many years ago, can't believe I never noticed it was LC brass.
