Badger M2013 in 338LM

It's the end of the month... Has anyone talked to Badger at all in the last 2 weeks?

xdeano

Heard from Marty again - apparently they are on track for the end of the month. Never know - stranger things have happened.

This 2 weeks thing has gotten so far into my head that there associations formed around it in my brain and now everytime I think about the M2013 I start seeing the scene from Total Recall when the mask malfunctions. Two weeks! :)

Badger Ordnance just posted this yesterday on their Facebook page...

We apologize for the delays on the new M2013 actions. Several circumstances have postponed delivery time beyond what we expected, as well as what we had originally quoted. While I hesitate to give a hard ETA at this point, it should not exceed three week from today.

We apologize again for the delay on these.

On the bright-side, maybe Marty will include free wrapping for Christmas delivery. :)

Ok f*ck badger, I'm done. What the hell did they change that is making it so damn difficult. Now I have an AX chassis that I can't do shit with that I spent the money to inlet for an action that will never come. I find it funny that through all the bitching on here about this that nobody from Badger has said anything on here.

3 weeks, woohoo, christmas in July!

Lencomatt, i'm kind of supprised also that no one has jumped on from BO but i guess with everyone updating the thread we're basically doing it already.

Patients is a big word.

I've been trying to get an action since November, I even passed up an AI AE because I liked the idea of right hand barrel threads and 700 triggers. The fact they won't give a real date and all the BS answers so far just shows they just don't have their shit together. 6 or 8 weekd ago they told me the variance was back but the machine that makes the bolts broke, so 2 weeks. 3 weeks after that I called and the variance hadn't been approved yet? Now whats the hold up, are they out of hardener to harden the action? Lol my patience-o-meter is broken. The worst part for them is that I was going to do a short action first and then later this summer a long for a 338 build, but now I think a Bighorn for the short and a Surgeon for the long. And I bet I get both before the 2013 finally makes it to market. I also wonder how many gunsmiths have on order that will take priority over the rest of us and our pre-orders? And if I sound bitchy wait till Turbo sees this, lol.

I've been trying hard to refrain from condemning BO. In fact I went back through and deleted my posts that came off nasty.

I'm really annoyed with them, but I remind myself that Marty and BO have been a monument of excellence in our precision riflery world for *much* longer than most of us have been invloved in it.

Obviously, they didn't go into this thing planning to jerk us around. I'm sure no one is more stressed out about it than Marty/BO. To us, this is just a toy that we want. To him/them, it's a livelihood and their good name. I'm sure they are doing everything they can to make this happen as quickly as possible. As a testament to that point, BO has only charged customers that demanded to be charged up front.

With a solid background in manufacturing, I can tell you that manufacturing *anything* is a real pain in the ass, wrought with a million-plus things that can and do go wrong. When you couple that manufacturing process with a government bureaucracy, it's a nightmare...I can only assume much more so when that bureaucracy deals with firearms.

What else can we do but wait?......and concurrently look for an AW?

I had to wait 6 months for my Lapua M2008 was worth the wait. Just be patient, alot of BO profit is sitting in those actions so they need to get them done as much as you want to buy them.

Turbo-I totally agree with you on the manufacturing stuff but this isn't a new product, its an update. The thing that gets to me is that they stopped selling the old one with the promise of the new one arriving. They should have in my opinion kept offering the 2008 until the 2013 was really available and gave the consumer the option to purchase the 2008 or wait for the 2013. That would have kept everybody happy on each side.

Eff all y'all, I've got a Manners T5A with mini-chassis and Badger inlet... AND I've already paid for my action.

That said, I'm annoyed but fine with waiting a bit longer... if we go 6 months passed the promised date then I'll be pissed.

This shit happens... yes it's an update but paperwork-wise, it's an entirely new action so the ATF doesn't give a shit. If they'd just made some updates to it without changing the model number we'd have them by now. Maybe they should have made a "Gen 3"

Okay everyone, at the risk of hurting some of your delicate sensibilities, here goes nothing. The entire firearms industry has been under significant pressure for the last 6 months. I have stuff on order that I don't anticipate for another 12-15 months. Things are backlogged for years. Good luck finding 22lr ammo on shelves at this point in time. To say the production capabilities of anyone in the firearms industry is currently being pushed to the limit is an understatement. That also means that you know what rolls downhill. Those that supply the firearms industry are also facing tremendous pressures on their abilities to produce. Most if not all of us have waited for things in the past and will continue to wait in the future.

That being said, the situation at Badger regarding the M2013's. Is it past the "projected release date" that you were all told? Yup. Is it a bit disappointing that you have to wait longer? Yup. Will you eventually get, in my opinion, one of the best receivers out there if you are willing to wait "two more weeks" longer? Yup. Do any of you think that Badger is intentionally holding these off so you all can bitch and moan on here how unfair it is that you have to keep waiting? Nope. Will your bitching and moaning make them ship the receivers any faster? Nope.

You all can attack me after reading this if you wish, but lets face it. Badger Ordnance has been EXTREMELY supportive of our hobby, but even more importantly, they are VERY supportive of our boys in harms way. They and Marty stand behind everything they make and their service is unquestionable. They are churning out their stuff as quickly as they possibly can. They have run into some snags with the M2013 with the ATF as well as a supplier that have pushed their schedules back. All of these were OUT OF THEIR CONTROL. Let's all cut them a little slack, get our panties out of a wad and wait patiently. They will ship soon and you'll have your receivers soon enough. In the mean time, sit down, shut up and quit your whining.

Rant off.

To be fair, apart from lencomatt reaching his breaking point, most of the discussions in this thread have actually been pretty lighthearted. Just a bunch of guys lamenting about the delays in getting something they want heh.

Your rant makes it sound like this is the SWFA thread all over again, which it clearly isn't. We all said the same things - the receiver will be great, Badger make awesome gear, but the delays frustrating.

I should be an old hand at waiting now, given my last big purchase was a JAE700 ;)

Last September I ordered a Surgeon action. I even passed on surgeon actions available at the time at Brownell's because they were, eek, $50 more than when ordering from Surgeon. Guess what, I am told that Surgeon is even offering their actions anymore. I didn't get a phone call nothing. Many emails unanswered. So my opinion of Surgeon customer service is pretty low.

On the other hand, every email I've sent to Marty have been answered within hours. Always polite. They make awesome gear. I'll wait. I have a Rock M24 profile .308. My attitude is when I get it, I get it. I have an AICS which I can use with another barreled action until I get the M2013 back from wherever I send it.

Just think, this time next year we'll probably be posting M2013 porn all over the place.

Remember MarineMD you'll have to get your AICS inletted for the M2013 before it will fit in it so you'll likely have to send the stock out WITH the action.

I like that..

I'll call it the "Thank you sir, may I have another?" ideology.

My plan: when the action comes. Off it goes to the builder. At that time, I will send the AICS to Badger for inletting and 2 weeks later...Voila! I got myself an awesome rifle. Now what can go wrong with that plan? It's not like I am setting myself up for disappointment or anything.

I did talk to Badger on friday and finally might have a gotten a real answer. I don't think they are dicking us around on purpose, they make an assortment of good products. They are in my opinion lacking in the customer service dept a little bit. They announced bringing a product to market before they actually were ready to and instead of owning up to all the snags along the way they just kept saying "2 weeks." If they would have been a little more honest with us about the problems instead of just hoping for 2 more weeks we all would be happier. I have $1700 tied up in a stock that is useless untill they get the actions out. I took apart a perfectly good rifle to build this 2013 thinking i would have plenty of time to get it together basing that on their words. 7 months should have been enough time. I ending missing the Snipershide cup this year and by the time I get this together I will miss most of the season if not all of it, its frustrating. Its really not the end of the world or anything but I never have had much patience waiting on other people.

Gave Badger a call Friday as well to request the old style round bolt knob added to my order. Not crazy about the mini tactical it comes with.
I told them that I wasn't going to ask the magic question. Got a bit of a chuckle in response and laughed it off myself. He said they would be shipping shortly.
Good things come to those who wait...

Back in February when I ordered, BO told me the action came with the mini-tactical knob, but I could buy the round knob in addition for $18.

You can also buy a steel pic rail in addition to the aluminum one it comes with but I don't remember price..it wasn't that much though...to the tune of $50-60.

I just ordered the 45moa steel rail and the round bolt handle on my M2013 338. No fuss over customizing an action they are still scrambling to get released, I'm a happy camper! Maybe they will start installing the round bolt knob standard if everyone requests it

Time to camo some more guns.. I hope you gwet it built before the November Match look forward to seeing it!

Clearly you don't understand what is going on, so it would be an exerise in futility to try again. If at some point manufacturors stop giving time tables you will have nobody to blame but yourself. Do you REALLY think they gave a time frame KNOWING that they would miss it? Come on, grow up and put your big boy pants on. You even admit you have little patience. Rather than go online and blast a reputable company and its owner maybe learn some patience. If you want instant gratification airsoft might be more to your liking. In the mean time, shut your mouth before you lose what little respect anyone here has left for you.

Damn even more anxious to see the finished product once you have it . Caught a great deal on a sold as used confirmed upon reciept never fired TRG 42 in 300 win so my 2013 in 338 just got bumped. Now scrambling for items to reload for it

Don't know about that. As soon as I get the action, and someone gets a 2.0 AICS in stock it will be off to GAP for the build.
Another test in patience.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.. Sounds like a sweet deal.
I won't be stepping up to the 300 win. My build will be another .308. I have managed to score a good bit of brass to be used in the new build.
175 SMK's are my next focus.

I ordered a PTG ball knob from Midway for $8 or something like that. It looks fine and I too like the round knob (I wonder how Beavis and Butthead would react to this statement, hmmm...).
