I was told by an old soldier (WW2) that in his unit sometimes he would use his knife and cut the nose of the bullet in an "X" shape. He said you would be surprised how an altered FMJ will react after being "cut" into a "dum dum" bullet.

Buy the Federal EFMJ's. They're very effective and better barrier penetration rounds than many hollow points.
