    Just a general FYI:

Not for nothing, but some of the best glass I’ve ever seen has been on the Hendsoldt scopes.

Interestingly I just noticed that a vendor is dumping them for 1799… Which compared to a lot of other scopes is a pretty good deal.

Not trying to get anybody to buy anything… But if you can live with an enhanced mildot scope with an additional ranging reticle, you can get yourself a crazy nice piece of glass.

I think a lot of people might want some of the more modern reticle but frankly low magnification scope I ever owned was a 3 to 12 Version of this scope.

Depends what people are looking for, and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the vendors on the hide could get it to you for a better price.

    Interesting
“This scope has .5cm per click adjustments, but the turret is annotated in increments of 10 - e.g., "1" after 10 clicks.”

The only thing that surprised me was that it was a second focal plane scope… The ones I play with have all been first focal plane and the glass is just incredibly great. I’d honestly be surprised if there are other $1700 scopes that blow it away, or have near as low chronic aberration.

I went ahead and bought it as a hunting scope that will do some target shooting. I just don’t think anything comes close to the glass and build quality at this time. I have a Schmidt and bender Polar and Exos I can’t wait to compare it too. For some reason I can’t resist Eurooptics clearance deals.

I bought a Schmidt and Bender 4-16x56 ultraclear... just before these went on sale... For my purposes would’ve been a perfect scope and a lot less expensive

    Holy crap....

72mm objective version of the same scope

    Demonstration:

Interestingly it appears the 72 has the same internals as the 56 mm objective lens...

The 72mm is a very different design on the inside.

The 56mm 6-24x56 never did anything for me. I thought that the 4-16x56 and 3-12x56 versions were notably better optimized.

6-24x72 is still amazing despite having been around for quite a few years. Eventually, it will go on sale and I'll pick one up.

curious what you think about the 6-24x72 vs TT. From just a pure optical perspective is the hensoldt > TT or TT > hensoldt?

hard to say because the objectives are different size, FFP vs SFP, and I have not had them side by side.

TT does have better depth of field and better microcontrast from what I remember of the large Hensoldt.

However, in low light, 6-24x72 Hensoldt is glorious. If they had a non-SAM FFP version, I would have had one by now.
