Yes, you can set the zero stop to be below 0 or whatever number you want. For both the PRO and XTR3.Sorry, I don't own the scope (yet), or have access to one to see it for myself before purchasing.
Is it possible to remove the zero stop? Or have the stop position be set to what would be a hold under position?
Edit: say I wanted the stop position to be 2 mils of hold under. Is this possible? Or is the hard stop always at 0?
Yes you can set the ZS anywhere you like the reply from Chickentoast in the Pro thread explained how to do it.Sorry, I don't own the scope (yet), or have access to one to see it for myself before purchasing.

Perfect. Thank you! Some pics for you...
1. Start zeroed, unable to dial down.
2. Loosen cap and pull up - caps have vacuum so they try to suck back down - re-tighten.
3. Dial the amount under you would like to have. It will click now because cap is tight.
4. Loosen cap again and push it down. Re-tighten.
5. Click back to Zero!

Thanks @Chickentoast. The last pic is the light bulb moment (for my dumb ass)....at least I think so. The knob bottoms out on the flange in between the knob and the body....and where it bottoms is the hard stop. Right?
Thanks to everyone else for the help too.
Got a 5.5x30x56 SCR on the way for my kid. What size tube did you use?View attachment 7806162Turret hack. If you’re not a fan of the dragon scales, like me, I found a cheap solution. Cut a small slice of a bicycle inner tube and stretch around it. Stays put pretty well and feels so much better.
Go to a bike shop. They will have a ton of old ones that have popped etc that they are just throwing away and will give you more than you need. Ask for one old mountain bike and one road bike one and that should cover you for pretty much anythingGot a 5.5x30x56 SCR on the way for my kid. What size tube did you use?
It’s old but here’s a pic.Got a 5.5x30x56 SCR on the way for my kid. What size tube did you use?
Thank you for the quick reply. I think there is an old bike in an out building of a house we bought now that I think about it.
I wonder if we can cut 1” pieces of this and sell them for $25 - “better than a throw lever, the new throw rubber!”
We can get $39.99 if we put tactical on the box.I wonder if we can cut 1” pieces of this and sell them for $25 - “better than a throw lever, the new throw rubber!”
I bet if somebody made FDE inner tubes this would 100% work!I wonder if we can cut 1” pieces of this and sell them for $25 - “better than a throw lever, the new throw rubber!”
Ya, they are called Ranger Bands. Basically the same damn thing that gets sold for wayyyy more than it shouldI wonder if we can cut 1” pieces of this and sell them for $25 - “better than a throw lever, the new throw rubber!”
Ah a masochist. This scope will fit you well.Sounds like I need to save up and get one, I always wish my stuff had more aggressive texture.
Nah, just have man hands lolAh a masochist. This scope will fit you well.
Mine has a bit of slop if you crank it fast back and forth you can feel it. Anyone else? It’s just a tiny bit of play before it hits a wall and starts moving. Seems to work okay but I have minimal rounds on it so far.I haven't read through this entire thread yet. Sorry if this has been answered already.
Is there a perceptible amount of backlash in the parallax adjustment knob (in the 3.3-18 and the 5.5-30)?
Throw rubbers is more marketable. Ranger bands sound like something for a man bunYa, they are called Ranger Bands. Basically the same damn thing that gets sold for wayyyy more than it should
Mine (5.5-30) was delivered yesterday. Still waiting on rings to show up so I can mount it. But I have run the parallax back and forth many, many times. No backlash. The knob itself does rub on the housing ever so slightly, in some spots.Mine has a bit of slop if you crank it fast back and forth you can feel it. Anyone else? Still showing pre order at camera land. I'm not really excited for a burris version of a PST. It definitely hits a certain market but just doesn't interest me. Maybe they are planning to expand the pro line for the new top tier? That would be cool. It’s been quiet on the XTR3i’s debut. I guess Burris could opt not to do much marketing on it since the illumination is the only feature being added. That said, I am worried this is more of a sign that it’s not close to being available for the public. With release of the original XTR3 and Pro, Burris folks were providing pictures, reviews and updates. Burris was dropping hints and videos on FB/instagram leading to the release. The XTR3i news has been almost non-existent. Last I heard it was supposed to be available end of 1st quarter/start of 2nd quarter 2022. Anyone hear different?
And then everyone bitched because made up timelines were missed. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.With release of the original XTR3 and Pro, Burris folks were providing pictures, reviews and updates. Burris was dropping hints and videos on FB/instagram leading to the release.
As Birddog has pointed out the XTR2 has always been made in the Philippines and has been a solid performer in all aspects other than let down by glass.Still showing pre order at camera land. Do you work for Burris?Maybe, maybe not. Any item can be made to certain standards if the manufacturer and consumer is willing to pay. A scope made in the Philippines targeting 1100msrp or so will not be in the same category as the USA made one that was 1800 upon release. There will be concessions outside of labor costs.
NopeDo you work for Burris
Do you work for Burris
So... you don't know.Nope
Nope, don’t know jack. I love the 3.3-18 I got from CL for the price. I’m always willing to pay a little more to keep things in the USA. Just a little disappointed I guess.So... you don't know.
Just like the rest of us. Until we get these in our hands, this is just a guessing game.
I shot my American made 3.3-18 again today, and I'm really loving it for nrl22. Great scope!
Yes but the XTR2 has been made in the Philippines and by all accounts is a well built scope and give very very few issues.Maybe, maybe not. not trying to instigate, or pour fuel on the fire....I'm very new to shooting....but on page 2 of this thread, there's a couple posts that mention illuminated will be available. One post from 2018 says it will be available in 2019.Where has Burris teased an illuminated XTR3 for years?
People confuse sponsored shooters with some inside knowledge and employees with actual inside knowledge.not trying to instigate, or pour fuel on the fire....I'm very new to shooting....but on page 2 of this thread, there's a couple posts that mention illuminated will be available. To be fair you could very much say they are influences rather than just sponsored shooters.People confuse sponsored shooters with some inside knowledge and employees with actual inside knowledge.
