California effectively bans all minors from shooting ranges/sports

"...avoid any postings that involve under-18 marksmanship training, shooting clinics, hunting and firearms use. Don't talk about taking kids to the range. Don't post about rifles built or acquired for youngsters to shoot. Don't post about taking your kids or grandkids shooting."


Oh, ok. At least you can still post about taking your 45 yr. old developmentally delayed, shut-in friend or relative shooting and hunting for the first time.

Fuck Calif. and Californians. Don't come here with your grey pony-tails, worn out Mercedes and faggot lisps. Nobody wants to hear how you did things back in Calif.

They will try to raise the age for owning a gun to 21 but lower the age to vote to 16. Then they will let a preschooler determine their sex and 12-year-old boy have his testicles removed (against the parents wishes).

My son from 4 years ago 100 yards with a red dot he was 12, can’t trust him to take out the damn garage but have no issues with a rifle in his hands. This law is about Turning future generations socialist nothing else, and if your worried about your kids and guns do something to fix your screwed up kid.

All the uproar and potential lawsuits are fine and all but it would be nice if ranges, competitions, and any “adults” associated with this stuff would just fucking stop listening to the politician whores. Fuck them all. Stop letting them tell you how to live your life

At least as much civil disobedience as you’re willing to put up with. I’m not saying protest with pitch forks and torches. Just go about your day; indoor range trip, competition, or long range trip like you normally would.

“A firearm industry member shall not advertise, market, or arrange for placement of an advertising or marketing communication concerning any firearm-related product in a manner that… reasonably appears to be attractive to minors.”



So as most at the range are not “industry members” I’d say, yeah, ignore and carry on.

That would have stopped the covid tyranny in its tracks that allowed the government to murder a million and more to come through the financing of a virus, legislation, executive order, poverty, and the vaxx. If it didn’t happen under those circumstances, i doubt it ever will.

Read what the bill defines as an industry member, very general. This is intentional. The thread title is not misleading:

(4) “Firearm industry member” means any of the following:
(A) A person, firm, corporation, company, partnership, society, joint stock company, or any other entity or association engaged in the manufacture, distribution, importation, marketing, wholesale, or retail sale of firearm-related products.

A private retail store/range would qualify under this definition, unfortunately.

Advertise your range as a range, video it’s features, frankly that’s all you need, seeing kids shooting, adults shooting, midgets shooting, it really doesn’t sell the range as much as just a video and pics of the facilities

Again, it’s a BS “law” that should be ignored, but I don’t see how this keeps some person from taking their kid shooting.

A title of
“CA commie gov attacks small businesses in his fit of rage against free-speech”
would be better and more accurate.

I agree with you. But see this from an owner standpoint, this would effectively prevent you from accepting minors on your property. Not even necessarily from a legal standpoint, but from a liability insurance standpoint.

The law doesn't apply to you. It is there to put the range owners, trainers. etc. out of business with the threat of high dollar lawsuits/fines. It also will work it's way into the insurance side of things and soon enough insurance policies won't allow kids to be on site.

It's intended to kill shooting sports and the culture by choking off the supply of new shooters. It's pretty diabolical.

Just mention the facilities or products and they can’t say you’re advertising to the “the children”.

State AG, local prosecutor, and any interested Karen will be able to hang the range owner up for anything that "promotes" guns to kids. So things like family discounts, kids safety training, fun targets (think the zombie targets and shit like that), etc.. The law is intentionally vague to strike the fear of lawsuits into the hearts of folks.

It also doesn't matter if the AG or local prosecutor is full of shit when they sue the range owner under the statute. They are using taxpayer money and the range has to defend using their own pocket money. That's a losing proposition.

So don’t advertise a kid discount, I mean I don’t think that’s really bringing in that much business anyways.

Per the targets, man that would be a stretch, I’m a grown man and I have shot some of those with my grown friends, especially with the popularity of the walking dead, that’s a stretch even by CA commie standards.

Or maybe GOA could weigh in, get a local big range to just throw the finger to that unconstitutional BS. and release the lawyers if CA is dumb enough to take the bait.

Again, I don’t see how this would stop most anyone from taking their crotch fruit out shooting.

What private club doesn't have liability insurance? Name one.

I'm not engaging with you. And while I agree with you, you can't change reality of someone whose livelihood depends on following the law.

We obey laws because we have things to protect. Ignoring them means you risk losing all; and if your really unlucky somebody here who posts on the LE/Mil form might just kick in your door shoot your dog and then fill you full of holes.

Hopefully this can be applied to the movie industry. Where else other than FPS games are guns more romanticized? Hope it’s applied to armed services and police recruitment as well.

Yes and no. Bases on CA certainly follow state laws in regards to use of their ranges. Try shooting a personally owned suppressor or unregistered "CA AW" on Camp Pendleton, Point Magu, Miramar, etc you're gonna meet a nice military police officer followed by a federal magistrate.

That’s terrible….I remember a thread on here talking about how out of state residents can get a waiver to shoot competitions on military bases with suppressors a few years ago

CA Penal Code does have a strange exception to their assault weapon law. I know cuz I've traveled and shot matches at Camp SLO and Pendleton with my own non-CA friendly rifle.
