Was squirrel hunting sunday, working my way down a steep revine, sliped and fell to make a long story short, bent the tube on a burris 3x9, any idea what they would charge to fix it, power ring is locked up, from the bent tube. Emailed them monday, have not recieved a response yet.

Re: cost of burris nonwarranty scope repair

Just a guess but if it's out of warranty, it may be cheaper to just buy a new scope. Scopes in 3~9x are probably the common and thus the least expensive. A scope tube bent enough to freeze the power ring may not be salvageable at all.

Good point Doubs- But if Burris wants to take care of a customer, they should either replace it for free or charge a minimal fee. They make so much on these scopes, i dont think $200 is going to bankrupt them.. Hesco, I would call them and ask what they can do for you.

recieved a response from burris 35 percent off new scope, pretty good deal IMHO, burris warranty isnt like leupold, only covers defects, luepold will give you a new scope for free if you run over it with your truck, but when you buy a lupy you pay for two up front.

Re: cost of burris nonwarranty scope repair

I would send it in and see if they fix it anyways, I had a 6 year old 3-9 signature series on an AR and I slid into a barrier a "little" (read LOT) hard with it. It knocked a lens loose and I ended up getting water in it. I sent it in and they had it fixed for free and back to me in just over a week. They have a kickass warranty in my opinion and they told me that if its broke, even if because of my own stupidity, they fix it (doesn't apply to electronics)

If the results he gives you happens to involve some of his incredible beer, THAT would be awesome!

Unfortunately the beer isn't his... that I know if. He's a super cool dude though and if you lived local I'm sure he'd buy you one.
