I once heard that in Australia if their Parliament fails to pass a budget on time then the Parliament is dissolved.

Whether true or not, I like the idea of accountability more often than when someone comes up for re-election.

At the end of the day the entire federal government worker salary pot is a piss spot on the side of a bucket of the entire budget. Eliminating every single federal worker would be be less than a 10% budget reduction and that includes all civ, military, and direct contractors.

Targeted cuts are needed and there is a bunch of redundancies across branches/agencies but the real meat is program and project spending, foreign AID and the black budget. Want to save money stop contracting with Deloite, BAH, caryle group, BAE, Lockheed, boeing ect ect ect. Stop paying $250k a year for what could be done for $110k a year by a fed fully loaded labor cost...especially a job that will exist in perpetuity.

No one in charge has any incentive to change the game because they all benefit from it and their donors. It's not going to change for this reason alone and anyone who tries is going to get JFKed.
