DPMS 308 extractor compatible with POF?

After 3000 rounds I finally need to replace the extractor in my POF P-308. POF brand chromed extractors are $60, it'd be much cheaper to buy a couple of DPMS or Armalite extractors if they'll work. It appears to be a regular extractor in my rifle, anybody swapped out and found it to work?

If they're gonna go out at 3k rounds I'll buy cheaper.

I havent tried it, but would be hesitant on doing so without a call to POF to see if the part is compatible. You don't want to do any harm to your high $$ receiver while trying to save $20.

That's a good point. I imagine they would probably say no either way as they don't want any responsibility but I'll call them tomorrow. Cheaper Than Dirt is right down the road, maybe I'll go by and pick up a DPMS bolt parts kit and see if they look right.

It's one of those things, if it works I'll feel like a genius and if not I'll feel like a dumbass.

Looking online and taking measurements the Armalite is a little different dimensionally while the DPMS and POF extractors are about identical.

POF said it may work, but they are not the same. I was told that it won't damage anything so long as the pin holes align and they're the same length. Worst case he said the DPMS just won't extract or may rip off a rim.

I think I'll just order the POF one as I need the rifle up and running and I'll pick up a DPMS extractor to experiment with this week. I'll post findings when I'm done.
