Roswell, Ga.
Grew up in Eatonton, Ga. shooting squirrels and rabbits.

Won the State of Georgia 4-H rifle competition 2 years in a row with an old Remingtion something or other.

Went to the University of Georgia. Didn't want to take PE so tried out for the varsity rifle team and made it. Pissed off a bunch of guys that came up through the ranks of the old high school military academies across the state who'd made the UGA rifle team just by being there (I was a "walk on").

Took first place in the '68 NRA ICC competition.

3 position small bore average was 294.4/300.

Shooting the Anschutz Super Match with a 1# pull for prone and 4 oz. for kneeling and standing. Damn near shot off my right big toe.

Gave up the small arms for a UH-1H with 2 door gunners with M-60's for a couple of years.

Could have had an AH-1G Cobra but they didn't need drivers when I got to the Sunny Southeastern War Games.

It's good to be here.

Welcome home Brother!

I also participated in the SEATO War Games. My team placed second in a disputed decision, but you can get an argument about that. Handed out a few Spades, too.

The best advice I can give you about the stuff you've come here for is to keep it all simple, keep it basic, and keep it affordable.

Let your guiding principal be to put your majority of effort into the Indian, and to concentrate less on the arrow. If the tools are properly functional, it's time to move on to the skills.

The firearm is a tool, not a treasure.

Doing practice and training with something more costly than a .22lr is poor economics.

Bigger guns are for bigger game than the wily paperbeast.

Semper Fi, if it applies...
