Ha ha ha...sounds like someone <span style="font-style: italic">might</span> need a little anger management.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">As the U.S. auto industry pulls itself up by its bootstraps, the gloves are starting to come off.

Automotive News reports that Ford's top marketing executive, Jim Farley, is quoted using the "f" word in a preview copy of Once Upon a Car, an upcoming book covering the recent fall and rise of the Big Three, as he describes his feelings for his company’s cross town rival.

“Fuck GM,” Farley tells the books’ author, Bill Vlasic. “I hate them and their company and what they stand for. And I hate the way they're succeeding. Ford is back because people trust us. And that is a powerful message. I'm a car guy. I wake up each morning thinking about cars. Watch out. We're only going to get better."

Farley is also quoted saying “I'm going to beat Chevrolet on the head with a bat. And I'm going to enjoy it."</div></div>

And while they're having a "My pecker is bigger than your's" contest, Korean imports continue to chip away at what's left.

I know I will never buy big three again.

Re: Ford Exec Drops F-Bomb on General Motors in Book

What exactly is a "F-Bomb"? Does it really blow some people away that much to be put in the same terminology level of "H-Bomb" or "A-Bomb"? Are folks really that sensitive that they're hurt by a simple swear word?

Oh my good golly, he said a cuss word! How naughty!

The horror.....

Somehow I doubt the Ford Board of Directors or share holders are really going to care either, and it makes me want to get that Mustang ordered I've been wanting for years.

Re: Ford Exec Drops F-Bomb on General Motors in Book

Fuck GM!

And G.E. too!

The whole lot of conspirators who sold their souls for TARP money while clamoring for yet more taxpayer subsidy for cars that don;t sell, will never work (Volt anyone?) or toxic light bulbs that you can't legally throw away or clean up when they break...

And of course then there is their political advocacy for the people that make sure they pay little to no federal income taxes and confer with regularly to force us to buy their crap...

Capitalism is free markets, competitive pricing and a battle for qualitative value, not collusion, cronyism and a stacked deck favoring friends of the socialists.

I'll still consider Ford products, but I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment regarding Chrysler and GM. Fuck 'em!

Re: Ford Exec Drops F-Bomb on General Motors in Book

though I gotta say I rented a Buick something or another on a drive from Philly to a SWAT conference in Ft. Wayne last May, and it was one helluva nice ride

Would have gotten a Ford product if I could have, but Enterprise deals out what they've got.

Re: Ford Exec Drops F-Bomb on General Motors in Book

I do agree with the Fuck GM sentiment, probably for different reasons though.

Re: Ford Exec Drops F-Bomb on General Motors in Book

I had a chevy once; won't make that mistake again. I've had two Dodges, was hoping to get two more until they became the Communist Corporation. I'm on my second Ford truck, but only because Nissan and Toyota don't make 3/4 ton trucks.

Yeah they did. Ford Credit took $15.9 Billion. They just managed to do it through back channels so the public wouldn't know it.

I was a die hard GM guy, worked as a GM technician for 10 years and parts manager for 2 years. I agree Fuck GM!!

Re: Ford Exec Drops F-Bomb on General Motors in Book

My entire family owns GM vehicles, except for myself. I drive a black 2006 F-150 Lariat SuperCab and I wouldn't trade it for any other truck out there, unless maybe an F-250. I've owned a Chevrolet Camaro Z28, GMC Z-71 4x4, a modded Mustang GT, Ford Lightning Gen2, and my current truck is by far my favorite. I'm wanting to install a 4 inch lift and put some Nitto Trail Grappler 35x12.50's on it in the near future.

Don't have a KIA, but I do have a Tundra that's up to the task. I'll avoid the Koreans until the quality exceeds domestics. I estimate another five years (unless the big three get worse).

Turn the clock back 40 years and people were making the same jokes about Japanese imports.

That article says:

<span style="color: #CC0000">"Hyde correctly points out that Ford's credit arm registered to sell the federal government around $16 billion in commercial paper. Like the financing wing of most automakers -- Toyota, BMW, GMAC and Chrysler also participated -- Ford found itself in need of liquidity when the lending markets dried up."

"Bottom line? Yes, Ford's credit arm participated in a federal program meant to free up short-term lending at a time when very few investors were spending. It's no secret."</span>

So the only thing misleading about it is that Ford took the money but it WASN'T a secret.
