Just realized I posted a reply to a thread before properly introducing myself. Hope you will excuse my manners. I actually was raised in a barn, and I meant no disrespect.

Primarily here to learn. Still new to long range shooting, and hoping to benefit from the wisdom and experience of others.

My starter rig:

Falcon M18+ 4-18X FFP / Mil-Mil scope
Leupold rings
UTG bipod

I grew up in the panhandle (Perryton), but I've been in the Dallas area since 1990. I'm a member of the Terrell Rifle and Pistol Club. It's an outdoor range with 25yd pistol lanes, a shotgun field, and rifle lanes of 50, 100, and 200 yards. Surprisingly, I haven't found any other ranges around me that go much further, but I'm still working on fundamentals so I suppose that will do for now.

Wichita Falls is a bit of a haul for me, but I'll definitely let you know if I'm ever headed that way.

There is a couple 1000 yard ranges within about a 2 to 3 hour drive of you depending on which direction you want to go.

You close to Greenville? There is a belly match (beginner) there in Saturday. Might go check it out and see what people are using and how it works. If you didn’t want to shoot on it. It’s $40 and people Will let you use whatever you need.

Myself and two other buddies will be traveling about 3 hours to come up there and shoot. I have shot several matches but figured any trigger toke is better then no trigger time.

Public ranges? There was a good one in Leonard but they shut it down. I don’t mind the occasional drive if you’d do me the favor of pointing me in the right direction.
