We want to see your skills! Post a video between now and November 1st showing what you've learned from Frank's lessons and 3 people will be selected to win a free shirt. Good luck everyone!

But you might have to slightly turn down the O.D of where the knob meets up with the bolt(if I'm not mistaken), which I believe would be a easy job for many 'smiths completing/chambering your build.
He is a awesome guy and one of the smartest gun guys you will ever meet.Good to know gonna continue to do some research and see what people have to say about Impact Precision in a few months. So far everything I've read people have been very happy. My understanding is it's a more refined Surgeon. I'd like to see a video of the action timing / running the bolt if anyone has one.
Does anyone know the details about the same guy having input on designing the Surgeon and the Impact Precision?

So I've heard. Someone was kind enough to pm me the details.
Will an Impact Action drop into a Manners T4A inletted for a Surgeon 591?
Not 100% sure on that all I run are Surgeons but I would imagine the footprint is pretty much the same. I can definitely find out though.

If you could find out and let us know that would be great
With an action wrench, barrel clamp, (and a set of go/no go's for headspace check).I was curious about the ease of swapping barrels out on this action. How does the system work?
All the lefties are spoken for at this time. There will be another run at some point but we just don’t have a set time frame for when as of right now. You can PM me your name and number and I can have Them put you on the list for a possible back out. No guarantees though bc I know there are a few people already on that list too.Have all the lefty's shipped out? Any chance of another run soon?
Short answer: no , not factory offerings anyhow
The long: I had asked Tate the same question when ordering, because I had seen a few varying knobs in the field and in photos. I believe he said after prototyping, the consensus was on their current offering with the two “cut/flutes” around the knob. The bolt has a similar male thread pitch to some of the other competitor actions for some aftermarket compatibility. For example, I run an APA knob on mine.

Don’t know that they have all been shipped. I know he is getting them together going down the list and shipping them out daily. I’ll find out more for ya tomorrow.Did the first batch all get shipped?
I am really looking at one of these or the nucleus barreled deal they got at PVA. What are the thoughts from you guys. Obviously the price is attractive for the barreled nucleus but what would I be losing out on vs the impact? Your guys’ thought please.

Have you handled a Nucleus and if so, what is it that puts the Impact in a different class? I'm not saying it isn't, as it probably should be for the extra $350. As far as the CRF thing for Dasher goes, I think people are under the impression that mechanical ejection is what helps with BR and Dasher to prevent the brass from getting roughed up upon ejection. It's just that CRF usually goes hand in hand with mechanical ejection, with exceptions like the Atlas Tactical action.I have an impact and out of boredom put a deposit down on a nucleus but after shooting the impact more and more I’m going to cancel my preorder. The nucleus isn’t even in the same class as the impact just my opinion. Also a ton of shooters shoot 6br or dasher from their impacts including myself, and it feeds and ejects like a dream. U don’t need controlled round feed... push fed actions like the impact work and are proven.
Again my prediction is impact to be the number one action used in the top 100 for 2018
I’ve run my Impacts for over 7,000 rounds of 6BR and 6 Dasher. I’ve yet to have one misfeed or any kind of ejection issue. I’ve run just about any action you can name, and if there’s something smoother and more reliable even when it’s dirty, I’ve yet to try it.
As has been mentioned, these actions have been run for tens of thousands of rounds by some of the best shooters in the country and are a known commodity.

I agree that Impact will have a shot at being the most used action this year. That's due to its quality, feature set, who makes it and who the manufacturer sponsors. I think most people know to not necessarily take the gear usage for the top 100 at face value. Team GAP all use Bushnell scopes, which is an example of how those numbers might be skewed for other parts too based on many factors.

Yes sir, all the lefties that were preordered and accounted for have been shipped out. He is working his way through the extras right now. I’ll pm you.Ever find anything out on the leftys?
I actually received my rifle Monday! Same story as the other two in our group, smooth as glass. I love it, I'm glad I held out and waited for it.@Joshpuh:
You might want to contact them ASAP if you already haven't about the lefty config.
Sounds like they have another run going that you could get in on
@Renomd how much lube do you run in your impact? My Accuracy International AX locked up on me during a two day match last weekend due to dust and now I am on the hunt for an action that can be run pretty much dry. My AI wont run with no lube without binding quite a bit.Accuracy International... the Impact sets itself apart.
This is the number one reason I am running an AI, I was absolutely shocked when it happened. For what it's worth my AI ran great in dust, sand, and dirt when other super tight tolerance actions were binding

Thanks for the response! The Impact actions look awesome.
There are a ton of videos on the impact precision Facebook pageCould some of you running an Impact post a video of you cycling / running the bolt?

Does Stuteville exclusively make barrels for these actions?
No sir, any competent gunsmith can chamber a barrel. “Impact by Stuteville” is just a convenience provided, that Impact will keep popular calibers in stock and you can just order a barrel from the website and screw it on yourself without having to take your gun down to send off to a smith. Just to name a few TS Customs and Gradous have chambered a lot of barrels for Impacts.Does Stuteville exclusively make barrels for these actions?
Bolt lift is very nice on an Impact. This is one benefit to a trigger hanger system where you can try different hangers (move trigger forward and back) to kind of time the sear engagement, which in turn makes bolt lift and close silky smooth.Hows the bolt lift compare to the TL3? Im addicted to the TL3s light lift, but the one small complaint i had with the TL3 was its ability to get "bitey/hung up" when the bolt was at the rear and being pushed forward fast and sloppy. Hows the Impact feel back there?
I don’t use much lube at all in mine. Especially when going into a match I will clean my bolt good and put lube on the threads of the shroud where the firing pin screws into bolt body. Other than that only lube I put on the bolt is a little dab on the back of the lugs. That’s it.@Renomd how much lube do you run in your impact? Those wondering about TL3 and Impact... they’re not even on the same planet.
Bolt lift and cycling - Impact
Binding (lack thereof) - Impact
Smoothness - Impact
Feeding and ejection - Impact
Reliability (in all conditions) - Impact
It’s hard not to sound like a total fanboy when it comes to these actions, and I don’t mean to put down another highly popular option. But when you hear that it’s not even close... it’s not even close.
This website sucks for my wallet, i gotta stop coming here...
Is it bad to buy two different actions to see which one i like more, and sell the other???
