Ingenuity Powder System

Yes, there are some deals on eBay sometimes. It’s very well worth it to have a second option, even if you keep it just for a backup.

I also have to consider how many upgrades I have in the V3 money wise…

It’s more than a new system now. First all the area 419 goodie’s and now Paul’s ingenuity parts.
So you can integrate the v3 dropper into the ingenuity mount? Or is that your own colab?

Yes, Paul sells all the parts. Many have purchased them already.
It’s a great upgrade, the electronics work way better, for both thrower and trickler.

Just as one example, it’s running a calibration for the trickler taking in consideration what disk is installed (# of cutouts) and can dop kernels precisely counted.

Forgot to mention, no more bouncing kernels either!

I'm pretty sure I will be relegated to the 2nd run of IP droppers as I was a bit late to the party on the pre-order. I have all the other IP parts already, but I will likely be waiting a bit longer than others here to see the IP dropper.

That's what I read, actually not even June - just "close" in June.
This ^^ deserved another skeleton....FFS. I'm 72 and wondering if I'll live long enough to see this product ship. Wow

The tariffs could be a big problem. I have a friend who has about $100K worth of parts sitting in port that were ordered long before the tariffs were even a consideration. He now owes $105K in tariffs on those parts because they arrived in port after the tariffs went into effect. He's fighting the battle but has no idea when or if he will get any relief. Hopefully whatever parts Paul had coming from China are already here.

Wait. I thought the point of the tariffs was so that we would just make everything in the USA.

Paul should just make all those parts in the USA. Shouldn’t be a problem

2 years waiting on preorder for made in china parts ?

I don't know what parts are sourced from China, but Paul did make a reference to the Chinese New Year causing delays in a previous email, so something is coming from there.

I suspect the electronics package was coming from China, and those are already here. Hopefully the rest is sourced in the states.

The point of the tariffs is to bring in money and even the trading field. That which is gone is gone
Hmmm???

The point of tariffs is to make imports more expensive thereby reducing the demand for imports. The importer pays the import tariff/fee (essentially a tax by another name) and passes the cost onto the customer resulting in higher consumer cost. By reducing the demand for imports, the result is a higher demand for locally produce products since they become more competitive. . . assuming local products might be cheaper than the imports with the added tariff cost.

This is a big issue for small businesses, like Paul's, that are already on a small profit margin and have no way to offset the increase in their costs and keep their product affordable. I guess we'll be seeing where this all goes for him. 🤷‍♂️

Tariffs do provide revenue to the government of the importer. But will that revenue be used to help those small businesses?

Well trump stated during the campaign that he would reduce income tax and replace it with import duties as was common before world war something. And of course small business won’t see a cent of it.

If I recall my history lessons correctly, income tax was introduced because revenue from tariffs wasn't working very well. 😵‍💫

"very well" being no-infinite growth of taxation

Income tax means govt' spending 100% grows lock step with GDP (ie inflation), and never tapers off...ie, no matter how "well it works"...as long as revenues go up, taxes go up...

Thus infinite "jobs" for whoever captures the .gov bureacracy...which is stupid business deal for anyone (eg taxpayers) to ever agree to...

Unless you are sucking the tit of the .gov (consultants, politicians, etc)

"Hopefully start shipping the first ones by the end of May."

I am hopeful, but also very gullible.
Same update I just got. My order has been in since December 20, 2023 so I'll be in the first batch (hopefully).
I believe this has been covered in this thread already but, to say again, Paul didn't require any deposits or (unlike Vudoo) 100% payment months (or years) in advance. He is a perfectionist. I will happily wait as long as it takes and be equally happy to pay when he wants paid in order to ship me a unit. I've owned the IP powder meter for four years and it was the best (not even any of that A419 stuff) upgrade to my V3 EVER.
I'm all in and I'm going to stay all in until the end.

Seventy and presently doing chemo for the second time. This is giving me something of a goal to go for. Live long enough to see this through! ;)

Ah...what update? In this thread? I tried the search function but this was the only post that was returned???
I do have to clarify a bit on what he replied:
"If it is next month it won't be until the end of it before I start shipping"
So, it's possible the international shipping and tariff thing has him stymied now.
