Rifle Scopes Input need'd Falcon 5.5.-25 and Hawke Tactical

I am looking for direction since my wallet does not fit my desires as far as buying glass..

<span style="font-weight: bold">I m putting together a <span style="color: #000099">Rem700SA- LTR 20" set back with a Manson M852 match chamber...mid-range designation 0-700yds</span></span>...Debating on optics____Either the <span style="color: #FF0000">Weaver Tactical Grand Slam, Falcon Menace 4-14, OR The Hawke tactical 30 4-12-42 looks pretty good</span>, BUT I have no epxerience with either of them..

I am also looking to keep my SIII 8-32 on my 6BR rifle____
Which means that I am <span style="font-weight: bold">looking for a scope to put on my 308 F-t/r___I have been trying to study up on the Falcon Menace 5.5-25x50 with the ML16 reticle and think it could be a good cantidate</span>

I'd go with the falcon just because of the matching mil/mil.

Is this a range gun only or will you be taking it to the field?

If so, you may want to consider the 4-14 or another scope in that power range with a low power around 3 or 4.

looking for the lower power scope for general field/target work...This will be on a Rem700Sa VS with a 20" LTR take-off I bought...chambered with a Manson 308 M852 reamer

then the F-T/R 5.5-25x50 Menace is what I was thinking! this one weighs 17# unloaded with the SIII definatley not a carry rifle

A buddy and I were shooting clay pigeons @ 300yds on Saturday. He has a Remington 700 LTR in 308 with a Falcon 4-14x & EMD reticle.

I was shooting a Remington 700 with a Lilja barrel chambered in 260 Remington. Super Sniper 3-9x.

Moving back-and-forth between the two scopes, I felt like I could see the pigeons just as well in my scope @ 9x as I could in his scope @ 14x.
