Why is a private security dude for a reporter engaged in any contact with either side of the protest? Shouldn’t his first job be to keep the “journalist” safe? If there are any signs of danger shouldn’t his first response be to get the guy he’s paid to secure out of there?
If he was in fact employed by an agency, Pinkerton, I would hope that they would come under the magnifying glass as well, do they not vet who they hire? I would say if he was there under any official “paid security” That whoever hired him would at least get to bear some responsibility of this. just because it’s a warm body with a gun, does not make them ready for security.

And while much is TBD, thats an interesting comment about the headshot. IMO, not sure placement matters much when its justified to begin with. Stopping is main thing but if that includes a head shot then IDK. Lots of things happen in crazy moments I suppose, especially when people have less training and experience.
But in this case, by guys grip/hold and stance and job role, Id say he had some training and a bit of practice/experienc. Thus a headshot was calculated, or learned via such training and practice (possibly outside mainstream methods).
The RDS means nothing to me, other than its a modern sighting system. If same thing happen with open sights the eventuality has same outcome meaning...dead guy.

The fact that it's been 24 hours and there hasn't been a strong "clean shoot" narrative push leads me to believe it doesn't look good for the shooter. Not that the situations are equivalent, but the left had already ruled Rittenhouse guilty in the court of public opinion and were calling for his head.
Perhaps most disturbing is the people standing there cheering on the death, good shoot or not. Take note people - if you're eyes weren't open before, let this be a wake up call. You have to have a merchant guard license to be security in D Town. If the shooter was an Antifa supporter of whatever I'd be interested in knowing how he got the job, what sort of experience he's got.
Another potential scenario here with some of the new photos is he may have been reaching for boonie hats gun, not the pepper spray, and that's when he got slapped and it escalated.

Not saying this about SH members, but I think a lot of folk think only "right wing kooks" go to the range and train or have had "formal training." However, I'm willing to bet a higher percentage of the left than most think has also had training - formal (as in a recognized facility) or through former LE/Mil that do have a leftist view (it happens). Pretty sure, though my last training was a while ago, when I mention I've had some...there are some immediate "eye rolls" and then you get labeled - even by people who are not leftists.

First, it would be interesting to know the source for the original claim that Dolloff was hired by the news organization. Not unlikely this was a bullshit claim from the start, and the news org, as well as Pinkertons, may have no involvement at all with him.

Go use pepper spray on a police officer and see what happens. The most likely justification for the officer's use of deadly force will be some variation on the theme of concern over weapon retention (this was the exact justification for that officer-involved shooting in Atlanta this summer).
Then apply that same logic to an armed civilian, because if that logic applies to a police officer, then it applies to anyone who is legally armed.

I don't like to make idle threats or angry predictions, but if my father or son were shot while i was within range, there would be two victims. Probably why I avoid situations like these.
Excellent point. I've noticed that in all the detective work done here, no one has picked up on the fact that bear spray guy was advancing on the shooter. Look at foot placement of both in the photo sequence. Bear spray closed a lot of distance to deliver a Rick James, while shooter stood still. This might be an important detail to a jury as this can be considered an attack.
As far as the shooter reaching for spray or the concealed gun, maybe but I'm not convinced. That could very well be a reflex reaction of having a big hand coming at your face...a slow attempt to block. Or could have been a hand up in defense of bear spray charging him.

I edited my post to add that he may have had his arm up first in a defensive position which is very probable since a big guy was charging him.
I have no dog in this fight and could care less how it turns out. I'm just playing couch detective like everyone else here and pointing out things that could be argued by the defense and considered by a jury. From this point on, it's all a game and comes down to the circus that is the judicial system.
