On the fence about wanting to put one of these together.
For the $$, I could certainly build an AR with better accuracy- but the collectible aspect is appealing. I suspect without a free-floated handguard accuracy leaves something to be desired?
Drilling/milling the new barrel for the front sight/gas port seems straightforward enough, but torn between getting a "correct" (12 twist?) barrel- or one that could shoot the current heavies...
It's my understanding that modification/replacement of some of the FCG is required due to NFA parts. If so, do I need to be concerned about constructive possession or will these parts not fit a current production semi-auto receiver?
Any regrets for those that have done it? Seems $750-$800 is a reasonable price for a piece of history, esp. given what milsurps are selling for these days...
