Mauser M18 & Comb Height

So, has anybody else kept their M18 from the Minox offer? I've got practically the lowest rings I could get (now I'm changing the rail which added too much height to just some Warne 2-piece mounts). Even so, I'm really worried that the comb height is so low that it will be practically impossible to get a cheek weld.

Anybody else having this issue? Suggestions for a good temporary comb? Closest thing I've found is the Smith Enterprise comb or maybe
ACCU-RISER AMBIDEXTRIOUS COMB RAISER CR-6000?

I'm using a budget NF standard duty 20 MOA pic rail and TPS 30mm TSR Low rings. No issues. Scope is Vortex Viper PST 5-25 x 50 Gen 1.

Hmmm. I was using the 0.97" Vortex Rings on EGW base. I just ordered a 2 piece set of Warne which should be a bit lower. Mine is 30mm as well so not sure what's going on here...maybe my head isn't big enough .

I just bought an m18 and the EGW rail. I've got a Vortex 5-25x56 inbound as well. What size objective on your scope? I'm curious on ring height and wondered if I can run low rings or if I'll need to go higher with the 56mm objective.

I saw it was a 30mm tube, just wondered on the objective. I'm thinking I'll definitely have to go higher as mine is a 34mm tube plus having the 56mm objective. Doesn't seem like many folks around here have these rifles or if they do they aren't talking about them.

Sorry for the delay. It's 44mm objective - 3-12x44 Bushy LRTSi.

I’ve got one with EGW rail, Seekins 30mm lows, and a Razor LHT 44mm scope. I’d like more comb but it’s not bad for a hunting rifle. You could install a karsten cheek riser or eagle pack to get more.

Same rail, Vortex Precision 0.87's for me. Or are they 0.97s...I'd have to check. Your setup looks way more cool than mine

What kind of shooter is yours? I'll be honest, I haven't taken mine out yet. LAZY and need to be able to see the target a bit better.

Sub-MOA with Hornady precision hunter 143 eldx. It’s a great gun. Worth the money for sure.

I didn't go with the 6.5CM because the twist rate was a bit slow from what I read; but, apparently it kicks ass in your rifle. I went old school - 270. Didn't get it out in time to test the Hornady in it - so now I'm ammo short in that. Not like the Antifa people have heard of 270, but all good country boys have.

It’s an 8 twist afaik. Is that too slow?

Eurooptic had it listed as 1:8. which left me wondering if it was 1 in 8 or 1 in 8.5.

Regardless yours is shooting well, so it doesn't matter. 1 in 8 is most common I believe.

I think it’s actually 8.66. 1-220mm maybe. The only reference I’ve found to 8.77 was on that thread you linked. Lots of retail sights either list as 8 or 8.66. Either way it shoots the 143s ELDx great. I think I’m 100’ above sea level here.
