Hey guys...I'm a bit of a lurker here, but I need a bit of help. My father's Springfield M14 is really picky when it comes to running a reload and we always have to put it through an RCBS Small base sizer to get it to chamber properly, without sticking.
The problem I'm having is how the heads are just distorted from being pulled so hard by the shell holder. It's to the point where if the brass just isn't trashed altogether, it affects the actual length of the cartridge, because it's pulled down and deformed.
I'm thinking it's a lubrication issue. I've been using "ONE SHOT" lubrication and waiting a few minutes for it to dry and the brass is Lake City or Federal.
Thanks for any advice! I just want to help my old man out..
