Rifle Scopes Need all the help I can get

Hello guys,
I'm getting into the precision game and need some help choosing glass. I'd like to keep the price under $1000 since I really don't know the ins and outs on the optics. I would imagine that a 4x-16x would be more than enough for me, I'm not sure what the difference between mil/moa is, and FFP and SFP. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Need more info. Is this a CQB? 1,000 yard rifle? Caliber? Intended purpose? All my stuff is MOA. If I had to do all over again it would be MIL.

optics choices are like selecting proper tools for the proper job......find some one near you that got the correct gear and ask to try it out......
