So I have a new to me Remington 700 5R 26" stainless barrel with lots of customizing done to it.
But I'd like to install a removable box mag set up.
Im looking at buying a new floorplate off of ebay and they are telling me they dont sell the mags but that I need the AICS mags.
Here is the company and does anyone know if this stuff is any good??
http://www.ebay.com/itm/120967990522?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Also is there a better set up or better mag set up?
And I dont know much about these bolt guns but I have extensive knowledge and experience doing smithing on my own AR's, Saiga's and handguns.
You always here these floorplate changouts require some mods or gunsmithing.
Can anyone please coment on all this?
thanks, Mike

I would look at the DBM from PT&G on this page http://www.pacifictoolandgauge.com/remingtonperf.htm about 1/4 down. I have one of the Stealth DBMs, before Stealth was etched into it and I am very happy with it.

It looks like the DBM from PT&G cost less than the one you had on ebay and PT&G is a well known manufacture that stands behind its stuff.

why would you buy bottom metal from the UK, plenty of american made botom metal that would work just fine, your money just wondering... $168 USD is a good price but after shipping you wouldnt save much, and good luck with customer service god forbid you did have an issue after receiving it.

I know its none of my buisness where you spend your cash,,,
I would look at Badger Ordenance, Sourgen, Difiance ect...

Another good option is Jeff at CDI in Florida.
He'll also do a professional inlet job for his DBM on your stock and get it back to you in a short time.
