Rifle Scopes NF ATACR Parallax Knob

Alright, I'm not sure if it is a problem or not, but just got a brand new Nightforce ATACR 5-25x56. When I am rotating the parallax knob it is not completely smooth for the entire revolution. There are spots where it slightly rougher than the other areas. Seems to be most prevalent when going from for instance 500yds back down to the closest setting. Its not terribly rough, but it definitely changes feeling in that area. Am I just being picky or am I feeling a problem. By the way the scope isn't and hasn't been mounted. Thanks in advanced!!

One of the guys we shoot with had a sloppy spot on his. Opposite of your experience. Would get real loose in places and would stop focusing then go back to normal feel/focus. Might have to send it back, or allow it to break in.

I've got the Nightforce Beast, so it's not exactly the same. But I found that there were issues with the parallax turret when I tightened the Spuhr ring screws to 25 in-lbs. The issue went away when I only used 15 in-lbs though. Maybe you're seeing something like that with the Atacr.

Yeah, probably not then. I would talk to Nightforce about it. I'm not sure how much help you're going to get on the forums for a problem like that. Good luck!

Yeah, I was gonna call them today, but was just seeing if someone had seen it before. Thanks for your input

The controls on that scope are not hand fitted and lapped like some
other high end scopes , but it should be smooth . I have a PST going
back for the same issue , in addition to grease spots .
