Let me add to that, not only does she need to do her job, but the county prosecutor needs to do theirs as well and keep historically violent people behind bars regardless of race. I seem to remember gun violence dropping dramatically when there was mandatory sentencing if a gun was used in a crime, even if no one was shot. Then the idiots in charge determined that was racist because of who it was going to jail under it and then overturned it. Predictably, gun crime went up. Now we need to carry to protect ourselves. Somme people love living in perpetual victim hood especially when it’s forced on them by people like her. I’m not one of them.

Several decades ago, I saw a LEO friend and another cop using their vehicle as a barricade with shotguns pointed toward a closed bank.

I was carrying then and NOT a LEO. Besides that, I saw my friend and thought he might want some help. I stopped the vehicle, rolled the window down and asked if he needed help.

He said no as they were just conducting some training. I said goodbye and drove off.

About a week or so later, he thanked me for stopping and said it was comforting to know that their are people out there that would stop to help like that.

Would I do that today? Only if I knew the cop and he were a friend. I don't fear getting shot at by a bad guy as much as facing liability, or criminal charges, for helping a cop who might be using excessive force or targeting a good guy.
