These guys are great. They built my 308 and I have nothin but great things to say about them. They have excellent customer service and will take care of you if something goes wrong. Thanks guys!

Keith,

I have a question for you. What is the work time on new firing pin for a Rem 700 LA?

Reason I ask, I have had my 700 LA in .25-06 AI for about 14 years now. It has always shot great. But recently, not sure if it is the new brass (Nosler) or shallow primers (CCI 250 Mag), but I have had about 5 light primer strikes without detonation. I was wondering if it was the firing pin. That is a really crappy feeling.....squeeze...click. Since I have a 12AE early rifle deer hunt in a month, and I cannot afford this to happen in the field, but I can't have my gun not ready for the hunt either. Let me know. If you don't have time, I completely understand. I will just have to use another rifle.

just received my 6.5x47 Lapua from PCR. took it out for a test run, w/a few pet loads from my other 47s and shot some nice tight groups. smooth action, feeds nice and tight lock up too! finish is also great. I'm happy!

Finally got to ring out the 300rum that PCR biult for me! It was amazing to say the least. had a first round cold bore hit at 600yrds on a 12" target and then shot a group at that range. Then made my first attempt ever at 1000yrds. After one windage adjustment I hit 3 in a row! It almost seemed too easy with this rifle! So I moved to 1200yrds. The wind had picked up a bit so I missed the first two but when I got the wind dialed in I nailed it twice in a row! It was an awesome feeling to say the least! Thank you to the guys at PCR!

Rifle specs are:
Defiance deviant action
Seekins Lapua DBM
Manners T2A stock
Bartlein 5R Barrel 1-10" twist 30" long
Assassin Muzzlebrake
Timney 510u trigger

I'm pushing 230gr bergers at 3200fps

This is the group I shot at 600yrds today! measured 1-3/4"!

Can't believe I had to search for this thread let alone I was the last poster 3 years ago.

Just took delivery of another PCR build. It was built on a factory 700 action. I know that's not the ideal option but it's what I had. Chassis is a non folding AI w viper skins. Barrel was a 6mm that I had sitting around. After a bunch of hymning and hawing I settled on a 243AI chamber. This whole rifle was pieced together w parts I had been SLOWLY collecting over the years. I'm very pleased w the way it all played out. A few hiccups along the way but Keith and Brad really went the extra mile to make sure I was well taken care of. Scope is just a Vortex 2.5-10 HSLR FFP rig, it will get changed out in time but right now I'm having fun fireforming with it. It weighs a lot but it shoots like a pussycat. Enough talk....I'll show you the pics.

Action- R700
Barrel-Rock Crewk 1:7.5" finished to 24"
Chassis- NON-Folding AI w Viper Skins
Brake- Muzzle Brakes & More 4 Port
Trigger- Timney 510
Rail- 30MOA Seekens
PCR "Phoenix" Bolt Knob

Hi everyone, been a while since we've posted.

Everything is going great, our new lathe is fully set up and operational, and we're more efficient than ever. We have implemented an additional quality control regiment, to help ensure nothing is missed.

Wait times have reduced to the following:

1 month on full builds
1 week on cerakote, brakes, bed jobs, etc.(single service jobs)
2-5 days on knob installs.

We keep most parts in inventory, except stocks(though we do have a few adjustable A5s for short action 700s and a couple for Deviant short actions, all with various DBM inlets.

Give us a call!!!

4804678090 - Keith
4807470528 - Brad

Thanks very much!

Thanks Devildoc for the post. We really appreciate people posting reviews.

We dont spend much time online anymore and rather spend it working in the shop, or running the business in other ways.

The best communication method is by phone.
Messaging us on here, or even in email, could take a while for a reply. We get a lot of spam and telemarketing we have to sift through, so please be patient and call again. We use our cell phones for work so you can text us too. That way info is saved and pics can be easily sent/saved.

Thanks again!

Someone told me that you had a 28 nosler reamer set up for the 195 bergers and would still fit in a magazine. If so, what would be about the max coal that the reamer would allow and what velocities and loads are your customers getting? Thank you for your time.

Yes we have a 28nosler reamer with a .185" freebore and 1-30(one and a half) degree lead angle which should put the OAL to tip around 3.600"

Plus, you can still shoot 162s/168s and up. You're not stuck with the 195s like you would be with too long of a freebore.

Reports back from customers have been great.

I do suggest using aftermarket Ultra Mag actions for this cartridge. Like a Defiance Long Action (Ultra mag version).

Thanks bery much!

I recently had PCR overhaul a Remington 700. They trued the action, installed a Krieger barrel chambered in 7mm Rem Mag, installed a contoured Badger Thruster brake, cerakoted, and bedded it to a McMillan A3 stock. Prior to the work, it was a 2"-3" gun on a good day. Closer to a shotgun than a precision rifle. After the work, it's a laser. I could not be happier with the gun or with PCR. Below are pics of the gun (sorry, they aren't the best) and a couple of groups shooting 180 Berger Hybrids.

Wait time on full builds is under a month right now!

Jobs like brake installs, bed jobs, cerakote, etc. take 1-2 weeks.

Knobs take 1-4 days depending on when we cerakote that color. We turn each knob out custom for each order. We don't keep them pre-made.

We have barrels, McMillan stocks, ..just about everything in stock to build some kick ass top shelf rifles.

Give me a call. 4804678090

^ But it's a DRY heat right? Kinda like a blow torch on the surface of the sun?!! I would be thinking of changing the name of your company to "anywhere BUT Phoenix custom rifles" !!

PCR does outstanding work.....I am very pleased with the work they did on my Remington 700-5R. Their attention to detail and quality of work speaks volumes......all at very reasonable prices.

These pics are from a customer. We built him a 280ackley that he shot a 3.17" group at 4xx yards. I forget what the distance was. 4 something. Like 436.

We always appreciate customer reviews and pics being sent in.

Remember to check our site or call for pricing.
Some of the pricing in this thread, from years ago, is out of date.

We're real short on wait times right now.
Perfect time to send work in guys.

Thanks!

There have been a few price drops here at PCR. Over the last six years of doing the same things over and over we're getting pretty efficient... so we're going to pass some savings on to you.

Full builds are back to one month month or less... with a chance we can get it done in only a few weeks.
Cerakote, bed jobs, brakes, etc. are about one week, unless I have to order brakes and they take forever to get in. Parts companies have been having a hard time getting parts out on time. Stocks seem like they'll never show up anymore.

Check with us, or bugholes.com to locate parts. We keep a lot of barrels, small parts, and some stocks in inventory. Bugholes.com has far more stocks, and they also sell actions(which we do not).

Call me at 4804678090
Thanks
Keith Johns

We made a new lug from 304 SS that is a perfect, snug, slip fit.

Big thanks to everyone.

Great work! I'm curious what you would charge to install a standard type recoil lug on an existing Tikka barreled action? Of course it would need to be bedded while it's there .

338 Lapua Ackley on Surgeon XL.

Definitely one one of the nicest 338s we've done. But I want to note, I suggested against doing an Ackley.
The owner may be looking at magazine modifications(removing the side ribs), and possibly still having poor feeding. Might be doing a lot of single loading... which he is aware of and ok with.

Thanks for looking
