Gorgeous AIs dude... Can't wait til I can afford an AT hahaha. You ordered the exact set-up I'd like... Although I think I'd get the thumbhole skin option.

Is that an SAS or AAC brake on your AX?

The brake is a AAC 18T for my POS AAC can. I ordered mine with the thumbhole kit and the NV bridge but those parts haven't made it to the dealers yet.

What is wrong with your AAC can? Just wondering as I have ordered an AAC SD 762...

The problem with the 762 SD is the QD, they can't make a QD to save their lives. The latches don't hold be it 18t, 51t, 90t, and the threads are too coarse for it to hold against the shoulder without backing off. Their quality control also sucks, I have a ranger 2 thread on that I have to send back because the threads are not concentric in the can. It wobbles going on every rifle it's been on and there's one shiny spot on the rear where it has mated up to all of them with only about 100 degrees of contact. You can actually look between the rear of the can and shoulder of the barrel and see light through one side. This causes horrible accuracy and POI shifts (12").

Do yourself a favor and cancel that order. Buy a quality can like a thunderbeast or a SAS.

Wow! Hello dream gun. Love the "kinda" simple look and the colors on the stock are great. Also you take good pictures so that helps. What are the specs on the build?

how 1500 .308 20" barrel
rifle basix trigger only because I like mine set to 16 oz.
egw 20 minute base...I added another 10 minutes with some jb weld
badger brake
bell and Carlson medalist stock bedded. I took a hoof rasp to the wings and smoothed off the sides
tactical works stock pack, I like it as it's softer than kydex and I can stay on target longer
schmitd bender 5 x 25 p4f
cdi bottom metal and mags

with 175 bergers this system will routinely keep 5 rds in 1 1/2" at 300 yards with some help from the wind

Classic, simply deadly, no shiny crap needed. The perfect rifle.

Thanks! First five shot group I did with it was 0.884 inches outside to outside... then would you subtract the diameter of the bullet (.308), leaving a final group spread/size of just over 1/2 MOA (0.576 inches)?

Rem 700 l/a
Shilen #7 contour barrel in 308.
Choate stock (works for now because it was free)
Bushnell elite tactical 6-24x50 mil/mil
Weaver 6 hole 30mm rings.
Night force 20moa base on the way

Already posted this one in the KRG thread, but here it is.

My Reminton 700 in 6xc

Yeah - love the lack of bling, nice rifle...

Thanks!

I haven't ever really measured my groups before with the intention of recording the data, until now, so I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I've heard people say to do it every which way.

haven't handled the US stock, but I'm sure that you'll love the McM!!
post pics when you get it.

accuracy is impressive out of the box

This is a collection of strong Pornography. It makes me want my rifle to be done even more. Glass is bought, ammo is sitting in a can waiting, rifle is 2/3 paid for. Hopefully less then a month, she'll be built, and I can be posting my first precision rifle up here.

I know it's been said before, and it will be said again and again, but be warned: it truly is an addiction! You can never have just one.....

Here's my first humble build:

Remington 700 AAC-SD in .308
McRee's Precision G5 Tmag Stock
Weaver 20 MOA base (excess length cut down)
TPS 30mm Ultra-Low rings
SWFA SS10x42 side focus scope
Vortex scope mounted cant level
Harris 3-9 notched swivel bipod with throw leaver
McRee's Precision Stock Pack (made by Tactical Tailor)

1.jpg

Not pictured: Turner All Weather National Match Sling with flush cup harware.

Still to come:

Bolt know upgrade by Short Action Customs.
Considering a trigger upgrade, but I'm not sold yet.
A QD suppressor of some flavor - Phantom, Saker, etc...

This was my first three shots at 100 last weekend (I know it's a minute low and have since adjusted my zero). The groups open up as the barrel heats up, but I was pretty proud of this one.

Thinned down a lot, only thing really missing is a 223 Kmw gap build currently being finished up. A couple of em have multiple barrels and I have 2 uppers for the gap10. If I'm doin my part they are all pretty precise
