What barrel length? I know a couple guys with 32” who thought they could run those speeds. They end up with case issues in a couple firings. 3150 ish seemed maintainable. All i know about the 338 vs 33xc having owned both.. it was a really hard on the gun/brass getting a 338lap to 2800-2900 with 300 gr bergers... and my 33xc on a lite load shoots 3200-3300 with 300 gr projos
300 gr berger otms and cutting edge lazer 302gr.... and h-50 124grThats impressive....Which Berger bullets and which powder and how many grains are you running 3300 FPS

Interesting..So you have a 300gr Berger running 3300 FPS with no issues? and using 124gr of Hodgdon 50BMG. Thats a lot of powder. At 118.2gr H50BMG my partner and myself run at 3020 . Could go faster but I think we would both hit way too muich pressure at that high of a powder charge.Thats anoth 270 fps. Man you have them ROLLING. How long do you expect you barrel to last at that velocity? How many rounds do you think or you have got out of a barrel.Thanks300 gr berger otms and cutting edge lazer 302gr.... and h-50 124gr
I didnt run the 3300+ for very long but the barrel lasted about 750 rounds.. i have a new one comingInteresting..So you have a 300gr Berger running 3300 FPS with no issues? and using 124gr of Hodgdon 50BMG. Thanks. My partner Ron got right at 1500 out of his 33XC. Mine quit way before that.I was running it at 3167 for a while.Trying out different powders is what wore it out earlier. It was my 1st 3XC. Im not as big of a fan of 33XC in Light Class as I was. My 300 RUM Ackley Improved and 338 Edge Ackley are More fun to shoot.I didnt run the 3300+ for very long but the barrel lasted about 750 rounds.. i have a new one coming
The 36 inch barrel really helps getting the speeds moving.... at 118 gr mine was 3200-3250 if memory is correct

The biggest issue i had with my xc is how fast you had to move your bullet out. Like 50 rounds in the neck moved so the group would open up a bit sometimes36" barrel and 124gr of powder, sounds like something from The Guns of Navaronne.![]()
