I was wondering if someone could run a quickload for me on my 243 reloads,
Winchester brass
95 SMK 2.258 to ogive or 2.826 OAL (B.C. 480)
48.8 H1000
Wolf Magnum and WLR primer (loaded seperately not mixed together)
They are shot in a REM. 700 sps v 26" with a H.S. M-24 stock, I see no pressure signs with either primer but hve not shot them in weather over 75 degrees yet. Accuracy is great with 5 shot groups averaging .300. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have yet to chrono them yet but I am hoping for 3150.

Re: quickload on a 243

I get 51,504 psi, 107.8% fill, 3063 fps.

But I have been through this before with .243, and in order to get the QL prediction to match the chrono, I had reduce the OAL to what it becomes after the lands seat the bullet deeper, and raise the start pressure from 2.5kpsi to 7.5kpsi.

If I do that, you have 2.626" OAL, 113.1% fill ratio, 64,450 psi, 3219 fps.

What does it all mean?
a) The .243 pressure and velocity are sensitive to being jammed into the lands.
b) I don't know if you can get that much powder to fit.

Re: quickload on a 243

Thanks for the info, I like the pressure was hoping for better velocity but the chrono will tell exactly. I dont think H 1000 is exactly the right powder for this bullet but is burns cooler and fills the case, and gives the best groups.THe % fill is a little confusing since they say 107.8 % and in my cases it is not compressed.
