Suppressors SAS Suppressors are NICE!!!

Re: SAS Suppressors are NICE!!!

I am still waiting for the ATF on the transfer from Tim at SAS to my dealer. I paid SAS on 8/12/2010, Tim said that he has had a lot of issues with the ATF sending his paperwork to the dealers rather than back to him or to his old address and being rejected. (not just me, he said many) I have talked to him twice this month about it. I hope that it comes soon, I'd like to get my form 4 moving. I actually bought an AAC can on 8/11/2010, it was already transferred to my dealer and the stamp just came back.

I have really enjoyed the recent reviews of SAS's work. When I ordered mine I couldn't find many articles or videos about the 7.62 Ti, I almost felt like I was rolling the dice because I wanted something for a 300WM and the Ti Arbiter was the only thing in my price-point with my desired features.

After seeing the videos and reading the reviews, I am confident that I made the right choice. It appears to be one of the better build/price/performance and not to mention weight. When I was comparing cost/weight/performance, 13 ounces for a 7.62 suppressor seemed phenomenal.

I did not mean to start anything, I just saw Lowlights review of the sandstorm where he said he liked single point cans better.

The best feature for these type of cans are the muzzle brakes. I am big fan of the muzzle brakes from both Surefire and AAC. I think they do a very good job when you're not using the can, especially in shorter rifles. But accuracy and impact wise the single point cans are better. At least in my opinion....</div></div> </div></div>

I understand where you are coming from with your question. Being I have respect for Frank and all that he does for us with the reviews. I just don't think the mounting system makes a huge difference in "suppressor accuracy". Ive shot with a lot of cans, I am not seeing any huge advantage minus weight characteristics and the speed in which you can put it on and take it off.

It's all about personal preferences when buying a suppressor. </div></div>

Just my .02 on QD cans. I have a half dozen different ones, YHM phantom being the only one QD. Thought it was a great idea being QD but over time, I have decided I don't like it and wont buy another one. There is just not an advantage to it for me, it just not that hard or slow to direct thread one on. And it is one more spot for something to get loose.

Re: SAS Suppressors are NICE!!!

I have my SAS Arbiter now. I like it. For the price, hard to beat that. I have only shot it indoors at a 50 yard range, just to see how it would group with the can.

The only thing I have a complaint about it the fact that SAS must not check the inside of their cans. Mine was full of metal shavings and run offs from a tap or drill bit. They could at least clean all that out before shipping! Once I got it all out it threaded right on with nice lockup on the shoulder.

Yeah, for some reason something like this happened with mine and my SOT. Took forever to get the can transferred between my SOT and Tim.

I like my Ti Arbiter. It was filled with chips too. I just tapped it on my bench until I didn't see anymore fall out. Shot about 50 rounds and more loosened up. It's fairly quiet on 308, and works great on my 300 whisper.

I've been considering getting another. Just the stainless version and running it on an AK. (A little nervous putting such an nice and fairly expensive Ti can on an AK.)

Re: SAS Suppressors are NICE!!!

I just got my TBAC cans. A 30P-1 and 338P, they are both very nice cans and despite the fact that its threaded wrong Im sure it will be a performer.

O man, I paid Tim on 11/2/10 for a TI 338 and a stainless .223. He put the form 3 in on 11/6. I hope it doesn't take the same 4 months, because I am already pissing my pants, and the damn things arnt even in Vegas yet.

Re: SAS Suppressors are NICE!!!

Man, I need to think about getting one of the arbiters. I was about to pull the trigger on one a month ago but my dealer does not stock them and didn't want to wait the extra time for the dealer to dealer transfer. I would really love to have one of them.

Re: SAS Suppressors are NICE!!!

I don't expect that you should have such a wait. I think much of it was due to Tim's relocation if I understand correctly. I did see by googling that there is a stocking dealer for SAS stuff, my dealer to dealer transfers were done in a reasonable time.

I did get to see it and snap a pic for you... not the flashiest thing in the world, but should look sexy in an mirage shield anyhow. Feels super light comparing to the YHM 7.62s and the good news, no loose shavings.

Apparently there have been a few more SAS threads online recently, the dealer (and I mean low-volume dealer) told me that he had just had another customer purchase and transfer a Ti-Arbiter to him. He has no prior experience with SAS but is annoyed with lack of response to his calls/emails to Tim. Tim answered every time that I called and as long as the product is great and I was supported well... I don't care

I'm very happy with it. The weight savings on the Ti model has proven to be well worth it for me.

I recommend them and would not hesitate to buy another if I needed it. </div></div>

THATS what I like hearing! Since mine will go on my 300WM first...
