I don’t buy into the BS about a bullet cannot move a body. Hollywood BS about someone being shot by a shotgun or whatever and then blasting through a wall is that BS.

Now I have shot too many ground hogs and squirrels to know yep, a bullet can move a body.

Depends on the bullet and energy and the size of the body.

Don’t buy into this Myth Busters BS until you can explain how shooting a squirrel or a prairie dog can send them flying through the air.

Having said that, I have killed 50+ deer and none of them went flying into the air. Too say that a bullet cannot move a body is not a absolute.

I’ve shot a bunch of whitetail deer, mule deer and antelope and quite honestly I could not tell if they moved.

Also, with the above mentioned game, I have had multiple times that there was no exit wound. That’s from 90 grain Sierra game kings at less than 200 yards with a mv of 3600 fsp. Similar results with Berger bullets. 130 yards with 6.5 129 Noslers at 3400 fps. Unless someone on here has experience shooting a person in the neck at 130-200 yards, this is all speculation.

I must admit that I shot groundhog in front of his hole from about 30-40 yards with my 7 mm Mauser w/ 170 grain bullet. The body landed on the other side of the hole. The impact blew it back 4 to 5’…..

Belief that in the future, (alive) ethnic Israel will accept Christ isn’t the same as believing that Israel is separated from the Church in a different covenant.

Ok, I’ve only been catching snippets of this thread, but there’s some discussion about what bullets do to bodies, specifically throwing them around. It’s pretty simple math, and an easily understood concept.

Momentum = mass x velocity. Conservation of momentum in an elastic collision dictates that any momentum lost by the bullet upon impact with a target, is imparted to that target.

Ok, let’s assume a perfectly elastic collision, where all of the momentum of the bullet is imparted to the target. If we give the bullet a mass of 180 grains, and a velocity of 3000 feet per second, we can easily calculate its momentum. Let’s assign the target a weight of 190 lbs, make it at rest, and exclude the effects of gravity, friction, the elastic nature of an organic target, etc. I’ve defined an idealized scenario where the target will retain all of the momentum imparted by the bullet. Upon impact, the body would accelerate to 0.4 feet per second.

Add back in gravity; loss of momentum from sound, heat, bullet fragmentation, and the elastic nature of the target and; it should be easy to see that bullets don’t throw man sized targets any appreciable distance.
