.............a Stihl as backup for what the Huskey wont handle.
My Girlfriend, now wife, bought me my 440 some 12 years and two kids ago.

I hear ya man. The last time I spent a lot of time running saws was before ethanol was even a bad idea much less a reality. I ran a tank or two through my saws and realized that gas ain't gas any more and dumped all my tanks and switched to Tru Fuel. My local shop will sell me Husq pre mix for about the same price per gallon as Tru Fuel, so that's all I'm running these days.
Before I switched chains and got them run in and tuned, I was ready to chuck my Huskies in a bin and go back to Stihl. Now that they're running well I like them. It's a totally different "feel" in the cut from a Stihl, but for not being pro saws I'm pretty damned happy with them.
WTH are we doing trash talking saws here? We've got a whole thread for that now!!!![]()

Does the whole country not have non ethanol at the pump? Is that not the same other than the fact you have to mix it? I’ve used the cans of Stihl fuel and I guess any other differences are over my head. Is it the stabilizers?
Yesterday I got one of the best Christmas gifts I have ever received, a phone call from the Father of the 3 little kids that came to see me before Christmas when I was doing Santa here locally and I stuck my snoot into their business and didn't back off. I knew who to call to get the ball rolling in the right direction.
They are now back in Neb. with their Dad and all are very happy.
I must admit it brought tears to my eyes.
Bogey, have you tried Av-Gas in your saws? I don't know how it would go but it sure is neat in my 64 Triumph T120 motorsicle. The octane is way up there. FM

the gas that comes out of the pump is the same gas you been getting sine 75, the ethanol is the part that is new and it does fuk up your engines and gives you 10% + Less MPG, its a fuking scam a goddam scam for a few in the corn belt.
we need to legislate that all premium gas should be ethanol free and let the public choose what they want to burn. This way we keep the corn lobby happy and always have an alternative for fast cars, high compression motors, boats , small engines and motorcycles.
Full disclosure I am in the oil business and I have worked alternative energy economics and actual logistics getting all the infrastructure in place many years ago. I know the good and bad of both sides because I actually worked in the shit, dealing with the shit, and it is shit. I could do and have done global modeling on this subject. Fact is we drove up the price of food globally, to the point we don't export free wheat and grains for the first time in our history, going back to before we were even a country, even during our civil war we exported food because we made too much,. that free food to feed the world is now getting converted to ethanol.
for energy security its okay to have ethanol but it should be done based on market economics not forced on us.
