swarovski lrf 8x30 help

I just bought a sarovski the guide lrf and think something is wrong. I have brand new batteries in it. The reticle can be seen in doors no problem but is impossible to see in any light conditions. Is this normal? I plan to run by and swap it tomorow where i bought it.

Cabelas has these on clearance for 559$ plus a 10$ off code so 549$, couldnt pass up this deal

Update...so i get home and test out the swaros. The last ones i had the reticle was way to dim and would dissapear but they consistently ranged out to 1400-1500 meters. I cant get the new pair past 600 yet. I will try again when it gets darker out but im highly dissapointed. Im leaning towards returning them all togetger and getting bushnell fusion binos, either the 1 mile or 1600s...kinda frustrated as i expected more

I don't have any problems seeing mine out doors. It's not super bright but I can read the numbers fine.

They are known to be dim. If your eye is not in just the right spot it will disappear.

I can see it in doors, but as soon as any little bit of light i cant see it at all

Im extremely dissapointed at this point and plan to first swap it for another and if that doesnt work then return it. I had high hopes for this range finder

I suggest you move it around a bit in front of your eye first. As a previous poster noted, the reticle can disappear if you are not lined up correctly.

Exchanged it this morning and it works great now. Definately a bad unit at first
